version 2.0.1 alpha52 (windows)

loading game ok... but after fiddling with options menu, game exits and message saying '...TTDLOADW.OVL encountered problem..."

is this the patch problem or a windows problem???

Yes, this is a bug in alpha 52 if path based signalling is turned off.

You can turn it on without actually activating it by putting "pathbasedsignalling 0" in your ttdpatch.cfg file, that should fix the problem. Or else, wait for alpha 53 which should be out soon.
