Upcoming version of TTDX Configurator features list

Hey, Im working on the new 1.3 version of TTDX Configurator ( for configuring TTDPatch, http://www.geocities.com/divxlandhome/ttdx.htm ) and I would like to know if is there something you would like to see in it.

I have received an email telling me of a missing switch but I've deleted the email and I forgot which switch was. I have also suspended the downloads of the 1.21 version, since I was told that the reducedsave switch was improperly set, so in this next version it will be set to "off" all the time. I also redesigned the menus to be like in the 1.1 version, and added shortcuts keys such as Ctrl+L to load, Ctrl+S to save and so on.

If for some reson you don't use this program or the TTDPatch, I also would like to know why.

Hi Andrex, it was me who send you the e-mail
I'm at work now, but i can send it again tonight !
So then i will also include it in this topic for everyone

Indeed, that reducedsave was a big problem and some missing switches, but i will post them here later on

If a good version came out with no bugs I would use it. Going though a file in notepad isn't my thing.

What bugs? If you mean the error in the "reducedsave" switch, it has been fixed already. And the other thing eft is to add one missing switch to the program.

As I've said in my e-mails to you:

Can you please add the command line support? Otherwise I can't access TTDX Configurator from the Saved Game Manager (for my upcoming plug-in) and specify a file to load. I've e-mailed you the code required to do it before, so you've no excuse now. ;)

Oh, and can you put the Open, Save and Exit menu items back into a File menu? It's better that way, in my opinion.

Thanks! :)

well here i am, the person who annoyed you
i tried your TTD configurator and these things bug me:

- When i load a cfg file, your program puts everything off, so i have to re-select everything
- you always put = 1 in the config file, but it should be = on/off
f.e. rvqueueing=1
in my config file it's rvqueueing on
- never change the reduced save switch, f.e. your program puts:
morevehicles=4
reducedsave=3
but it should only change morevehicles
reducedsave is always 0
- multihead is a percentage, you always put 1, f.e. 35 means 35 % speed boost, so this should be from 1 to 100
- new switches bridgespeedlimits and unifiedmaglev are missing, they are
new
- i don't find cheatscost, it's always off
- i can't find extpresignals

Actually the File menu is back again. And I added shortcuts keys to automatically load and save files.

This should happen only when you load a file saved with an old version of the program. If you save and load with the same version, u will notice the settings a reloaded.
- you always put = 1 in the config file, but it should be = on/off
f.e. rvqueueing=1
in my config file it's rvqueueing on
This is to make it easier to program. It works perfectly anyway, don't worry if it says "0" or "off". That should not disturb.
- never change the reduced save switch, f.e. your program puts:
morevehicles=4
reducedsave=3
but it should only change morevehicles
reducedsave is always 0
This is the reason why I suspended the donwload of the the program. It is already fixed for next release, reducedsave is set to off all the time.
- multihead is a percentage, you always put 1, f.e. 35 means 35 % speed boost, so this should be from 1 to 100
I prefer to keep some settings simpler to avoid confusing the user. As you can see, the planecrashcontrol is way easier to configure with my program, despite it doesn't show all possible combinations, but the most useful ones.
- new switches bridgespeedlimits and unifiedmaglev are missing, they are new
Will be added in next version, like all switches that are asked in this topic.
- i don't find cheatscost, it's always off
There is no such switch yet.
- i can't find extpresignals
Also will be available in next release. Hold on.

Sorry Andrex, you quoted my post but you didn't say anything about it ?
Did you forget ?

Sorry about that. I made a huge mistake.
If you read the quote, you'll notice that I answered item by item INSIDE the quote.
My mistake.

I agree with spiff,
I also think that multihead should be a percentage, not a yes-no thing... :roll:
Thanks for all,

If you tell me how this switches work and their value range, I will add it right now. I didn't find them in the TTDPach readme nor the site, are you sure those options are available in TTDPatch 1.9?

by orudge
They are not available in 1.9, but they are available in the 1.9.1 alphas.

Yes, perhaps these are too 'new' so you don't have to add them

this is the explanation we got:

Marcin's "unifiedmaglev" (or -XM) is a new patch that combines the vehicles of both monorail and maglev. It takes a parameter, the unification mode. If the mode is 1, all maglev vehicles are converted to monorail vehicles, and if it is 2, monorail joins maglev. If the mode is 3, both sets remain separate.

The "newbridgespeeds" (or -XX) patch allow you to specify the maximum speed for the two fastest bridges, the steel girder and the tubular steel
bridges. It takes a parameter, which is the percentage of the speed of the
fastest vehicle. This percentage will then be the top speed of the fastest
bridge. For example, if you use "newbridgespeeds 90", and the fastest
monorail vehicle is the X2001 at 190 mph, the speed of the fastest monorail bridge will be 90% of 190 mph, or 171 mph

TTDX Configurator 1.3 is out.
Modifications done:

- Fixed the reducedsave switch, now it's always set to "off".
- Modified the multihead switch to be a customizable percentage.
- Added the cheatscost and extpresignals switches.
- Restored the original File menu, now with Alt keys support and keyboard shortcuts. For example, you can press Ctrl+L to load a file or Ctrl+S to save settings.
- Added the Save and Run option to the file menu. With this option you can automatically save the CFG settings and run TTDPATCH.EXE or TTDPATCHW.EXE if present in the TTDX Configurator folder.
