...but the only new is the date and the removal of stuff and the comment
that stuff has been removed.
Anyway, have a look at it if you wish:
http://members.aol.com/TWDepot/
It's a nice site but they are still swallowing the rubbish being churned out
from MDStudios HQ.
I sent an email to the creator of a similar TW site
(
http://www.c-j-allen.freeserve.co.uk) in these terms...
<START OF MY EMAIL>
We recently on the TTNG had a debate on Transport World, and we really think
that as each day goes by and there is no update on the MDStudios site, the
more of a joke this seems to be.
Some quotes from the NG.....
--
"Shame if TW does collapse but I had my suspicions a couple of months ago
when I (twice) emailed the authors with suggestions for the game - as
they had requested - but never even had the courtesy of a reply. (Don't
you just hate that). The much promised screen shots failed to appear
too."
"When I first heard about them a month ago I was surprised why I did not
heard about them before. This project had 4 websites (!!) and a very
well visited discussion board.
When I first visited their site I was very surprised about their latest
headline that they "Need more ideas". No professional company would
ever write this.
Now their discussion board is removed completely.
But I have seen this kind of 'degeneration' very often and it is no
indicator of non-progress. They may still recover and update.
Unfortunately 90% of little non-professional teams as MDstudios
generally never finish their projects. Even not if they are hyped as
MDstudios."
"Same here. I sent them the TT Midis that they had requested. No reply."
"No pro company would ever REQUEST the original TT midis!
If they are what they claim to be, they should be able to extract them
themselves from the TTDX files.
Sorry to say this, but it doesn't look good. =("
"Would a pro company need midis from a game not their own and a game so old?
I bet not. They are just a bunch of amateurs with a dream which didn't get
fulfilled because the lack of experience and skill."
"I am afraid that I have been thinking this for quite some time. I have
actually spoken to some of the people involved, and apparently none of them
have written anything professionally before, only small amatuer programs.
I think its often quite easy for people to have grand ideas without
realising the workload involved. A game like TTD is far more complicated
than any amateur program, requiring thousands of lines of code, which have
to be written and debugged. This usually takes 2 years of solid work- it is
a lot of work.
Clearly MDstudios are amateurs, we can see that just by looking at the
website, links that don't work, updates that don't come. They of course have
no publisher either. Basically, it sounds to me like it could just well be a
couple of ambitious teenagers who set up the site but have now lost interest
as they start to realise how enourmous the job of writing a game really is."

Sorry if I've poured a huge amount of skepticism on this matter, but we are
only casting our opinions. It does seem bad seen as though the MDStudios
site hasn't been updated in months doesn't it?
Thanks,
Eddie

And lo, a reply. A very short one in fact.
"True, true, true, true, (you get the drift)
Chris Allan"
I don't think we'll be seeing any new updates on this site for a long
time....
