Hi,

at various places in the web, I found links
where you could download TT and TTD
for free. The normal reply as to why they
are free is that TT(D) is no longer distributed
in the US and thus can be given away freely
for download. Is this true? Or is it just plain
warez with a "nice touch"?

Also, does anybody know where I can
purchase TT(D) in Germany? Or is it
"not distributed" there anymore either?

It is not true, it is warez.
It just has been re-released a few weeks ago in two forms:
1. As budget (DM 30)
2. As bundle with Railroad Tycoon 2 and Rollercoaster Tycoon (DM 90)

Simply go to your next computer games shop and ask if you don't see it.

Yes it is warez. As Tycoon is now available again in all major games stores
(see Peter J Dobrovka's reply for more) it would become classed as warez
again.
It is your choice.

Download it for free or
Buy it, and contribute to Chris Sawyer, Microprose, and Hasbros funds.

Surely the latter is better all round. If it results is better games, then
I'm all for.

Thanks for everybody's replies. I went to a store and
looked it up. They had it for a good price and if this
keeps Microprose making excellent games so be it.

was basically the condemning, and thoughtful replies that got him to remove
it. It just proves the flaming gets you absolutely nowhere. The only way to
end the events, are through constructive replies.
