getting the windows ttdx

I am not able to get the Windows TTDX anywhere
in Finland - even Nordic Games doesn't sell it - so
is it possible to get it trough the Internet? I would buy
it, but they don't sell it anywhere.
I would then be able to run TTDX trought wine in Linux.

You should be able to play the DOS version through windows......
Just set everything to AUTO and it should work....It did for me....

Not sure about this, never used Linux!

Have you tried running the DOS version under DOSEMU?
Or if you appreciate super complication run it under BOCHS
The windows version requires DirectX 2, I don't think Wine supports DirectX
well at all yet...

I did not even know that there was a Windows version of TTDX.
I am currently using the Dos-Version under Windows 95 and it
works quite well. You could try to edit the DOS-mode of WIN 95
that you have about 600 KB free under DOS.
The only problem I have on one of my computers is with the
sound setup. TTDX failes to recognize my soundblaster compatible
aztec-soundcard.

HOMM 3 (Heroes of Might and Magic III) runs under Wine, and it uses DirectX
6.1 so I guess there should be no problem whatsoever with that
