Problem with you or the IC24 end?

If I was to ask for more auto-abuse, I might calculate how much we DO
actually talk TT...

Good to have you back though.

Neither. We're getting our phone transferred to a company called Telnet. And
the transfer must have occurred over the weekend. Now it seems to dial up a
service, you need something called CLID, on your telephone exchange. Telnet
mustn't have this, so I wasn't able to use the smtp, or the news servers. I
found out that if you dial 1470 before calling your ISP, the CLID gets
submitted. So I tried it and it worked. With BT, this happens automatically,
but with Telnet, this doesn't happen. Caused a bit of grief, but problem
solved.
CLID (Caller Line Identification) is something which is meant to stop
spammers. Huh, and has it worked?

It probably has worked for Freeserve, e.g. they know who are spamming, yes?
It doesn't save the world, but it does save Freeserve
