bridge ends highlight (like tunnel's one)

sometime is difficult to build a bridges beetwen 2 mountains (for example in arctic climate) because you have to count how many tiles are from where you started the construction and the lowest level, then count again from lowest level to where you want to stop the bridge...
why not automatically highlight the tiles where you can place the end of the bridge on the other mountain?

I totally agree

Good point!
Devs/patchers, set to prioirty 10+

Must be damn expensive though, a bridge crossing a huge valley?

Simple but very handy.

Arsenal, they're called viaducts...

You cant do that. What about when you make a bridge to a level up. Like from floor to a little hill? If that was implemented, the computer would try to go from floor to floor... wouldnt work well. Ive thought of it before...

What are you talking about? It would just highlight the possible locations for you to drag the bridge to, not make the computer build it for you.

Not only can bridge end at two different levels, it can also go in four different direction. Computer has no way of knowing your intentions until you press a mouse button and start dragging. And then it's too late to give any hint of ending location anyway.
Unless ALL possible endpoints from current cursor position was highlighted . . .
Would look funny though...

No, you start dragging, then the possible endpoints appear. It would be very useful, since it will be easier to know when you reached the other end then.
No more wasting time trying to figure out where you should have stopped dragging...

No sorry, this cant/wont be done. Maybe something to help you is it tells you the level of the curser. So when to start dragging on the first tile. It might say "7" then you drag untill you hit 7 again.. thats another possibility

Why you say it can't be done? Did you try coding it? I don't understand your reasoning.

Because there would be too many options of where to build the bridge. Same height, different length, 4 directions... its too much. Im sorry but u have to be stupid to want to still wanna make it, or it might be that you cant understand what im trying to say.

Did you actually read my previous response to haakon99 ? No four directions, just highlight next possible end in same height as beginning of bridge, when dragging...

is helpfull to build these viaducts

latinoloco, once you've started dragging, there aren't that many choices. Granted, if it's only one level up it would be highlighting a lot of flat land, but that could be limited to the maximum length of the bridge (or shorter if buildings are in the way).
wolf01, it would be even nicer with signals on bridges

Oh, so once you'v started dragging... But still A LOT of possibilities. Maybe it would highlight the possibilities but the one thats at the same height is bolder. Like the highlighting of the tile is bigger, or more shocking or something...

i don't know how do you mind this feature, but if i'm building a bridge like this, the only possibilities to end the bridge are the azure tiles

Yes, but if you build bridges like in the following picture, the PC is not able to know, where a bridge should end.
