LOL, all I can think of is the TGV that required new tracks to be build...

yep same here
or actually, it would be a Monorail graphics replacement... or I could be wrong perhaps

List of High Speed Trains:
ICE
TGV
Thalys
AVE (Spain)
There might be more, those are the ones off the top of my head.
Would it be possible for regular trains like for example in the DB Set, the BR 120 to run on just normal track, and things like the ICE to run on both? You could make junctions between the track types which hish speed trains can travel over.

Oh, that needs a new feature. It also needs the train to think: It can travel faster over High-Speed tracks, so it doesn't always need to take the shortest way...

Maybe not then...
We could make it then so that the ICE, TGV etc
have to travel on high speed tracks while other trains run on normal track.
It would be more challenging as players would have to build more infrastructure to accomadate the fastest trains. Similar to real life apart from the crossing of tracks.
What do you think of the graphics? Id like to see them in the game to see if they look alright.

Am I wrong or did you not replace the snowy tiles?

Ok, I'm wrong AND he didn't make them
Anyways, shouldn't the barriers be made of concrete, in high speed tracks? (lightgrey color)

How easy/hard would it be to code crossover tracks?

what's "crossover tracks"?
You mean like a railroad / monorail crossing?
Posted: 15 May 2005 13:36
by jvassie
yep, sorta like this
- = railway
_ = monorail
_ _ _ _
------/------
_ _ _

Why don't you just build a bridge?

you misunderstand,
not to cross over the railway, to intersect with it. So one train can go between the 2.
Dont know if this is possible or not though.
If i was to code these tracks just as a graphic replacement for monorail, how hard would it be?

Oh, that needs a new feature.

Woops missed that!
Can someone please code them for me?
Cheers

I'd say that the ballast needs a little more texturing, especially on sprites 1018-1022.
I expect you're aware that you'll need a desert version of these tracks too.
