To receive help, please answer the following:
Which version of the patch? ["Latest" is not a version!]
What do you mean by "crash"?
Why can't you upload a crash log?

1. alpha 48, iknow that latest isn't an answer
2. crash as in complete system freeze needing a manual restart
3. because it can't produce one.

OK, I wouldn't call that a "crash" (which is what's usually meant when the program terminates and you go back to the desktop) but a "hang".
In any case, my guess would be that some of the graphics files you have are not the same version as what Jim was using. Now that shouldn't cause a hang, and that it does is a bug in TTDPatch.
Alternatively, your download of the scenario may be bad, try downloading them again and see if it helps.
I can't reproduce the hang though, even with your config files, but I don't even have half the .grf files you are using. So it's probably because of one or more of your .grf files. Try removing them from newgrfw.cfg and then re-adding them one by one and see which one causes the problem.
Please do report what you find, because this is a bug in TTDPatch and needs to be fixed even if you can work around it.

Make a ZIP file of the entire contents of your newgrfs directory, and post it here.

well, i think i did post the zip of all my newgrf's (i.e the whole folder), but i tried to load the indutrial scenario but crashed it, without all the long vehicle's. so jim, would you like to update YOUR grf's? i know that noone else has had problems but you might find them to be better, especially since they are now 2 versions ahead of you. anway, i'm at school atm so will post zip later.

You mean, Jim is not using Long Vehicles v. 3, but rather an older version?

Since they are scenarios and don't have any vehicle, I don't see how the vehicle sets should make a difference anyway.
House and industry sets, however, would be important to get right, for example the TTRS version should match.
