Killfile functionality

Right. Thank you for introducing yet another useless poll. Useless especially, if you look carefully at the possible answers you have provided. Seriously, young one: If you want to know about people's preferred maximums, then "200+", "300+" and "400+" essentially mean the same thing because of the "+" that you have so thoughtfully appended to each random number.
If I had felt the need to introduce a pointless poll to this forum, the possible answers to the same question would have been:
- It's fine as it is.
- Between 256 and 1024.
- Unlimited.
- Please get a frigging life.
Once again I regret that this forum is PHP based and doesn't provide a "killfilter" function -- a nice little "plonk" button next to a poster's name and I would never ever have to read or see another of his/her posts again -- because I would be using it right now.
I want to be able to killfile people.

Scrat, aren't editorial comments usually enclosed in *square* brackets?
The only lusers I've wanted to plonk[0] have subsequently vanished. I don't think this is a coincidence.

You're right of course, but BBCode is also in square brackets.
What I *love* about plonking is not just being able to ignore notorious time-wasters, but telling them that I'm doing so.

Wait a sec. let me get this straight: 'You want to killfile people just because they have spelling/grammar mistakes in them?'
If this is bothering you, you must know that some people do not have A+ marks on their report charts at school for english.
And some people have a different manner of writing a message, so if someone used the word 'world wide web' instead of 'web' you can't just ask that one to alter his way of writing/speaking (maybe) because
you don't like it.
A forum is a place everyone can use, and if there was a rule about speaking 'perfect' english it would be boring to read all this, a little variation isn't bad ya' no'.
If I didn't get it straigt in the first place, then I didn't say anything.

Grammar mistakes? No. Those are excusable on the grounds that (A) English has a very difficult grammar, and (2) this is a forum. To some extent, people are expected to use colloquialisms.
Spelling mistakes? Yes. Mozilla/Firefox and IE[0] both have English-language spell checkers (
SpellBound and
ieSpell, respectively.)
Capitalization mistakes? Yes. All keyboards come with *three* ways to make a capital letter: two shift keys and a Caps-Lock key. If your keyboard is so broken that none of those work, then you needed to buy a new keyboard years ago.
Punctuation mistakes? Yes. If a punctuation key is sticky then (1) you need a new keyboard, and (II) until you get one, you still have three ways of getting rid of the extras: backspace and both delete keys.
Lack of clue? ABSOLUTELY! There are umpteen other things I could be doing; I read this forum because the bogon pressure is low, at least in the sections that I read. Bogon-dense posts are a waste of my time, and some peop^H^H^H^Hthings[1] are demonstrably unable to produce other types of posts. I don't expect everybody to emit cluons, but I am unwilling to be a bogon sink.
[0] and all IE-based browsers: MSN Explorer, AOL, MyIE, Smart Explorer, SlimBrowser, CrazyBrowser, &c.
[1] What? Oh. Tell the Thing Anti-defamation League that I'm not available right now.
They want to know when would be a good time to call me? How about 100 years from now?

None for opera, and i don't have admin so i can't do it with IE. For the 3 newxt, they are all grammar!

You talk about his grammar and his english as if he had to learn it. Look at his location. He is from Australia, if he can't speak/type English properly, then he is either a stereotypical 12 year old internet goer, or he is just stupid. Probably both.

The fact that the cretin cannot phrase a single coherent sentence in his native language is bad enough (-- I blame modern education --), but starting every other post with "lol" and exhibiting general cluelessness in all of them are unforgivable sins to me.
Were this Usenet, I would either killfile him and leave him to annoy others or flame him clean off the net. On this board, software prevents me from doing the former while moderators prevent me from doing the latter.

This is an English language speaking forum, but a majority of the members are from countries where they don't speak English in common.
Most posts are rather technically too, so if you write a post, please do your best to make it readable for everyone and don't use stupid slang
