Steam locos don't whistle on entering a tunnel

I know this has been a bug which has come and gone many times over the years. It's back. I'm using a47, and a new test version of the US set. All the other sounds seem to work, as usual.

Well, it works with the DB Set XL... if it's only a few locos, they probably have some properties not set right.

Interesting. I'll report it as a bug to Oracle. I know they're steamers though in that they give off steam. Must be some other problem.

For reference, it also works in my 0.83.1 version of the US set.

This works fine here, although I am having difficulty testing in new games because TTD keeps freezing. (Josef's got an email about it.) Even the Mikado whistles perfectly. If it gives off steam then I see no reason why it shouldn't whistle.

It whistles. It just doesn't whistle when it enters a tunnel, is all.

Did you modify your sample.cat file by any chance?

Nope. I've been researching this, but haven't dared to actually try it. I've been play-testing too many different projects as it is, the last thing I need is one more screwy possibility.

Well, I've got no idea what the trouble was, but it started working again...
Sorry to bother you.

is it possible that your sound card is built-into-mainboard ?

Yes, it is. Hmm. Yeah, I've had problems with those before, maybe it just had some weird glitch. I didn't reboot though.
Obviously it isn't a Patch bug anyway, and it's working now, so I won't worry about it now I guess.
