Hello,

I use an Original CD of TTDLX, running under MS-DOS.
My computer is:

Code: Select all

CPU : AMD Athlon 64 3500+
MB : A8N-SLI Deluxe
GC : Sapphire Radeon X850XT
RAM : Corsair PC3200 1024Mo XMS Twinx XL (2x512Mo)
HD : Western Digital Raptor 74 Go 10Ktrm
CD : DVD Burner DVD+RW NEC
SND : Chipset Realtek ALC850 8-channel CODEC (integrated on MB)
NET : 2x Marvell 88E81001 Gigabit (integrated on MB)
HID : Keybord / Mouse Microsoft Wireless USB
SCR : Iiyama HA202DT Vision Master Pro 512 (CRT 22")
OS : Windows XP Home Edition SP 2 (french)
Just after installing TTDLX, I tried to launch it without patch. I got 3 messages about tentative to open the COM2, COM3 and COM4 ports, and then the game started. After several seconds, it closed :D Not very stable under XP ;)

So, I installed the lastet patch (2.0.1) from the official web site.
I tried to launch again the game, using "ttpatch.exe", and then I obtain the messages again, then an error about the CD can't be found.

Using the original CD, even if the game crash after second, it starts, and it find the CD ! Why the patch can't ?

Some times ago, I installed a copy of the Windows version, and it worked fine with the patch (but it was 2 years ago I think, as I remeber, it was the 1.5.7). But I don't have licence for the Windows version, so I would prefer using my registred copy.

Then... One another thing : in the Windows version, as I remeber, we can change screen size with the patch. Can we do it also with the MS-DOS version now ? Coz playing in 640x480@60Hz on a 22" screen it really hard for eyes :D

You're using XP. Unless you want to run under a DOS emulator, or install a DOS-workalike OS, you'll have to use the Windows version.

Hmpf... I found that adding th line "cdpath=d:\" in the config file fix the problem.

But... Right now, the game crash when I enter the "configuration" menu
