Path based signals

This is a truly wonderful new feature, however with one minor alteration it could act as the saviour of TTDX and stop trains getting lost on large networks.
Would it be possible to modify a presignal maybe with one extra coloured bar that will stop a train from entering the block unless a path is available to its next waypoint or signal box( providing this was no more than say 10 blocks away. Suddenly trains wouldn;t take the only route available in the right direction , they would be forced to wait until the correct route was availabel. thanks to the idea of PBS this shouldn;t tie up stations as other trains can go in and out on other tracks while they wait .

Anyone else think this would be a good idea?

Your sigmonster captures my opinion of that suggestion rather well.
In my opinion, if a train is blocking an intersection, it's a problem with network design, not pathfinding.
