maximum production from industries

I would like to know what the max production is of certain industries.
The highest production of a chemical industrie i've seen was 3069 tons a month.
I have a factorie that becomes more as 27000 tons a month of chemicals
But the output is never higher then 7905 tons a month.
Also this is the case with the steelmills, thus a waste of raw materials.
This is also interesting when you play with AI compagnies.
The question is then,will the output just raise or is it already the max production rate in tons.
If it is, then its not interesting to make an other station there.
Give your highist values in tons please, so that we can make a list of it.
I will put the highest quantity in tons here below.

I think that there are only 3 values at the end.
1 st Industries wich produce living and growing things:max3069
(cattle,wheat,lumber,grapes)
2 nd Industries wich produce raw materials:--------------max3069
(oil,coal,chemicals,iron)
3 th Industries that make things:---------------------------max7905
(factorie,sawmill,foodprocessing,winery,steelmill,papermill,printing house)
btw. This are values without using the fund industries mod.

I can never get anything up high :( How do you do it :? I have like 4, 6 trains running the route, all ways the 2 station platform is full, but i never get more then say, 300, 350 lumber. The best i have had was 7000 tonnes of oil, that was with ships though.

For lumber i think thats about the maximum.
I give stations always 2 names.
A 16*4 station i divide in 2 times 16*2.
The first one i start building from left to right, the second one the otherway around.

At least on paper it looks like there is an advantage there. But it would require every train to have two stops in their route and you are not able to wait for a full load anymore, am I correct?

I guess I would prefer to send one or two more trains to that station, waiting for full load and thus keeping the station's rating up at 100% because there is always a train loading.

No,i only showed how to build such a station.
The trains run in only onetime at a certain industry.

I misinterpreted your "textdrawing".

After seeing the screenshot it is clear what you mean, but at first I thought you build 2 stations on a single line.

Id better get in quick as otherwise I wont have any highest totals to report. Dont think they will stand the test of time once other players report in. Flour Mill is my best - taking grain from 4 farms (Cliff Challenge Scenario) and Paper/Print (Race to Read Scenario)

Bakery: 610
Flour Mill: 1100
Food Processor: 597
Oil Rig: 300
Paper Mill: 669
Print works: 648
Sawmill: 280

On your ro-ro station - add a couple of outlying platforms to include the 2nd coal mine to the station catchment area?

Here i will tell you about something strange happened to the factory output while building my 80 tracks station.

At a certain time my factory got 16.000 tons of chemicals and steel a month.
As you now the max production of goods is then 7905 tons.
So i build an other factory to get more goods from the delivering trains.
Now the new factory got all the incoming steel and chem. and gave 7905 tons.
The first one got nothing but still produced 7905 tons.
This also really hapened, cause in the grafics of the transported cargo, i saw this increased wih somelike 8000 tons.
The good trains got also much more cargo(i saw that).
I decided to build a thirth factory at the station. i had room for that.
Now only the second factory got steel and chem.and was the only factory thet produced goods(7905 tons).
The grafic of tranported cargo also dropped again.
Now i started on other experiment.
I build a second large station 16*4 with enough long trains at the second factory.
This was also provided with goods and transport dubbled.
The factory output stayed 7905 tons.
So my conclusion is this:
Factories can produce more than 7905 tons,but they cann't display an higher number.
This may also be the case with food processing,brewery samill etc.
Perhaps this is also true with producing rawmaterials like oil,ore coal and chemicals wich i often get to their max. of 3069 tons. :?

So are you saying that you got more goods when you built the additional factory, correct? But then later, it sounds like you are saying that the max production is higher than it is displayed? I'm confuzzed.

Yes, when i build the second factory ,the amount of cargo raised, but note:the station indeed was feeded with 16.000 tons so that was not the point.But the first factory didn't show the incoming cargo.
Building the thirth factory the totaal amount of goods
really dropped.This could be a bug.
Loading the game again with just one factory, and building a second station, i got goods equely as the amount of delivered cargo(16.000 tons).
I saw this on the cargo grafic, and the harderworking goodtrains.
But the factory couldn't show more,neither his grafic.See above 2 stations.png

After installing the "Founding Industries" mod, my forest now produces 1500 tons and still going up.
Before this mod i've never seen this higher then about 350 tons.
If this is because the mod,it's now interesting to set up large cargolines of things that grow.(lumber,wheat,livestock and grapes).

I was playing the North america Midwest 100 year challenge again.
I have installed the fund industries mod, but didn't use it.
I only started the normal scenario.
Now i found a wheatfarm used by the AI that produces 2730 tons.
While i thought that they could never produce more than about 350?
Any one has seen a higher amount with a standard game, or is this because having the mod installed?

Never seen a higher amount at a wheat farm...maybe a few tonnes but nothing of that magnatude. I have no mods nor patches installed.

Did you try and capture a share of that massive grain production or was it just available to the AI?

I think it's output is so high because of the mods, allthough it was started as a normal scenario.
Atleast, now you can setup a decent food chain.
I saw also that lumberproduction reacts good on the mod.
The player whose trains loads at a station for the longest time ,gets the most benefit.So never leave a station without a train loading. :wink:

Here an other exsample wath happens installing the mod "fund industries"
A forrest made with the scenario, not planted during the game produces 3069 tons of lumber.
But i'm not complaining!!

Your station occupies land that might grow trees. If underground would the industry have a higher potential output ?

Ive found a wheat farm needs approx 1/4 of the land in its farming radius to reach its full (unmodified) potential. Forests feel like they need more land.

Can I suggest that in the main post, where the max output is listed, that unmoded and moded outputs are shown so as not to accidentally mislead players who dont have the mod.

Thank you, all values are now from unmodded industries.
About land that is occupied by the station.
When i've time i will try to look at that. Interesting! :wink:
Here a papermill, allmost pushed to its limit of 7905 tons.
6 tracks unloading lumber and 9 tracks to load paper.

I haven't noticed destroying farmland/trees/ski slopes as actually causing any reduction, actually. Which is probably for the best, given the amount of destruction that expanding cities (and the damn AI) cause. Do they rebuild after a while? I don't think I've seen it happen.

I've seen a vineyard with half its crops blatted by a burgeoning metropolis still pumping out `normal' production levels. A bit unrealistic, but rather that than lose the resource, and the resulting food revenues.

I tested on a wheat farm.

I planted trees in every cultivated field in one quarter of a farms area. Production dropped even though the fields underneath the trees continued to look as though they were being farmed...graphics changing, bales in field etc.

The farm soon took over spare green areas in the quadrant and elsewhere around the farm. Production quickly returned to normal.

For the next few years I progressively covered the farms area with more trees. A second, third and fourth quadrant. Eventually there was very little green field left.

I drove an AI train out of business due to the low production (and a food run it had built on the back of that) :D At one stage production was zero.

As my trees died off farm production recovered a bit. As I reversed the process and cleared my trees production recovered fully. I cleared all the trees and was left with a farm that was farming every square in its radium..yet its production was no more than normal.

Concluded:
- Trees reduce productivity.
- Farm will go farm elsewhere to maintain production
- Only when farm is limited to less than 25% farmland in its radius will production fall.
- Most farms you are not going to effect with normal play
- Coastal or snow line farms can be managed to produce a bit more, or bit less by increasing or reducing available land.
