[Released] US era 2 railroad vehicles

im going to break my package into 3 parts, dividing the locomotion century into 3 eras, sicne era 2 seems to be so empty of railroad activity as far as new vehicles go, ive decided to do this one first.

this set includes EMD locomotives for the era plus a new US style grain hopper

included:

GP38 1963
GP38-2 1972
GP40 1965
GP40-2 1972
SD40 1966
SD40-2 1972
SD45-T2 1974

each has its own specs. as real railroads did, you will probably perfer the more reliable -2 models as soon as they are released. these are more expensive but less to operate. ive tested these extensively with the AI and the ai seemsot recognize all the differences in the locomotives and what they are designed for.

up next in this package: (as of 10/22)

passenger diesel F40-ph

Could you change the reliability so that it fits with this mod ?

Or do we have to ask babs ?

It's a real shame, I'm very happy with the improved reliability, it doubles it so you can play about 20 years with one train without replacing it
But now that I've added your EMD GP38 , this one gets a rel. of 57 % when I buy it, this is just so dissappointing

Brilliant plug, 114 % is way better than 57 % :)
(and so easy to use)

i think i did this one purpose, you see, when these locomotives first came out they did not have the advanced electrical systems as the -2 models of the same type, so i needed a reason to buy the new locomotives and add the problem of replacing so many outdated locomotives as the real railroads faced. the only reason for the base models (without the -2) is that i didnt want every locomotive to come out in 1972, when the -2 series was introduced. so the reliability is essentially correct, in that your main goal is to deal with the problems until the new version.

I figured that already, but sorry if I tempered with them anyway, for once I would like to concentrate on building networks and not on having to replace trains every 5 years

ah no thats not problem, i understand i did it myself because the SD40s kept breaking, it was driving me insane... something really needs to be done about lomos reliability/breakdown calculations...
