Now.. the moment you have all been waiting for:
The stupid newbe questions.:
1. I saw in a screenshot 2 4 row stations next to eachother. is that done with the patch? and wich patch is that?
2. in the old TT... is there a patch that solves the problem with the monorail? i mean.. crossing with other monorails?
3. i always wondered... after you completed the 100 years and all.. are there any new developments coming after that?

2. ...
3. Guess not, tho I never really completed the game.
4. Nopez, I´m the st00pid n00b here. Better RECOGNIZE

Welcome everyone!
I´m Matt Gillard the owner. Starting with Wraith 8 questions:
For the stations you need the patch which anaconda said!
Dunno bout the second one. TTD can´t cross over rails yes. But I´ve never heared of a patch that allows the original to do it! Sorry
When you complete TTO or TTD you are in the newspaper and are put on the leader board or something. Then you can continue the game for I think 50 years. But then year keeps repeating itself. But after the newspaper there are no new vehicals or anything >_<.
hehe all newbies ask questions. Its the only way ^^. Hope to see ya stick around and again welcome!
Now the other newbie (lol) Maruku:
The point is with the patch it fixes problems and adds a lot of compatability to TTD. It allows it to be played on Windows NT as if its on 9x. Lets you have huge trains. Improves signalling and other things. And the best thing it adds cheats which can be fun!

It also fixes problems people have with TT asking for the cd etc.
.....
Welcome again everyone and thanks for posting!!!!!!
60, 000 wooow. lol

Let me tell you all what the patch does in one short sentence:
It fixes (almost) all the annoying features in the game.
Let me bring on some examples:
- Multiple engines in a train (not just a dualhead)
- Larger stations, and you can combine the three types of rail in one station. You can expand station without destroying it first.
- Pre-signals. Your terminous stations will work excelent, like never before.
- Alternative unload. Your vehicles will get a partial payment for cargo that is forced unloaded on a station.
- Auto renew. The vehicles will go to the depot when they are getting old and change to a new one.
- Persisting engines: As long as you have one engine in service, you can always buy another one of that type. So it´s possible to have a steam-engine at 2050

And you don´t run out of rail-engines on the sub-arctic and sub-tropical climates. (I hate rebuilding my network to maglev).
- Mamothtrains: You can have up to 127 cars in a train. And with the "alternative loading time" (another option), it doesn´t take ages to load that train.
There is a lot of other fixes, that make the game a lot more playable.

Okay, IC. Seems worthwhile my downloading time

, but still, what´s the difference between ttd-on-nt.zip and ttd-on-dos.zip? And what´s all that TTDwin95 stuff every1 is talking about?
Sorry for all my questioning stuff, and plz tell me if my sig´s 2 annoying

I´ll change it right away...
thnx 4 your time

The ttd-on-nt.zip is the windows version TTD. The other is for the DOS version of TTD. The DOS version can´t be used on NT I don´t think!
Its the windows version you want. Its much better. TTDwin95 is the windows version of TTD. Thats all. If your wanting to download TTD heres what you will need/want:
Transport Tycoon Deluxe Windows Version:
http://www.qualitygames.net/ttdlx/ttd-w ... ersion.zip (Thats a new link not currently on the site)
and
TTD Patch Windows version:
http://www.transporttycoon.co.uk/downlo ... -on-nt.zip
Hope the answers it

I reccomend
http://www.ttdpatch.com. You´ll get the latet patch from there (I dunno if
http://www.transporttycoon.co.uk is updated with the latest patch?) Eventually
http://www.ttdpatch.com/beta/ for the latest betaversion. The current beta is 1.8.1 B4 and it´s very stable.
Good luck patching

I just downloaded both the DOS and the NT patch, since I am running my desktop on windows ME and my laptop (:P) on 2000.
But erm... I can´t really suppress the feeling of irritation when I´m playing TTD patched. Because except for the obviously very nice functions of more stations and trains, I still think that the patch alters the game in a way too unproffesional. The fact that you have to push CTRL to use some of the functions feels a little strange.
Nevertheless, I´ll try to play the patched version from now on, and maybe I´ll even get used to it

. Thnx for explaining me the function of it and for the URLs.
Forever thankful,
Maruku

I quite like using CRTL. I actually use my keyboard more than my mouse.

I two use my keyboard a lot, like when I´m laying tracks. But still... it looks as though the patchmaker had to find a key to use for all the special functions. Making extra buttons would look way more proffesional.
Maybe for the next patch

(on a side track

)
Maruku... your from Zwolle? cool.. i go to school there
(back on track

)

thanks again

[Acting surprised 2 find another Dutch dude on this forum who sometimes is in the same city]
Zwolle is pretty cool yeah, altho I live in Eindhoven most of the time, since that´s where I go to school.

But erm, back to the point. From what I´ve seen, is that if you have the DOS-version (assuming you do, since you like TTD you should´ve bought the original

) the patch on this site says it will fix the NT incompatibility. I haven´t tried it yet, but I will now, so erm, BBL

I tryed the patch with the DOS version in XP but it didn´t seem to work. I haven´t tested it fully so I´m not certain. Let me know of the results!

0¡, bad news, it doesn´t work. But maybe I´m not the proper dude for testing.
My laptop doesn´t have a COM 2, so at startup, windows starts bitching about how it can´t find COM 2, DUH!
So, maybe someone else can try it.
BTW, it gives a stack error, so even with my limited knowledge of assembly, I don´t think it´s the COM port.

!!! Holland is small but the Spirit of the Dutch Folk is High and Great !!!
hehe
I hated the fact that this ´selectgoods´ function was in the game, so I deactivated it... but after a while I discovered it´s worth it !! The great thing is you can enable those options you like...

Delete COM2 off the device manager which is inside the system propities in control pannel. That should stop it messing you about.

I had the same problem... Com 2 and if you press Ignore it ask for Com 4... Really irritating... after downloading the windows version and installing ttdpatch, it worked fine... Just don´t forget to make TTDPATCH run in 95 compatibilty mode if you want full screen...
