hello people:
I would like to suggest a new ship for the game all you get in 1900-1920
is a very old steamship which only carries 50 passengers. I cann't draw any thing. but I can suggest new things for this great game. I have inclosed a picture of a new ship

Thats a good point, where are the titanic size super liners from the 1910s? Surely they should have been considered a big enough form of transport to warrent an apperance in the game

Unlike TTD, it is not feasible to draw stuff for Loco Pixel By Pixel. Also without better refrence images, i imagine nobody will do a ship for you. Maybe it is time for you to learn 3D Modelling.

About that 3-D modeling.... Is there anywhere that explains how to model things for this game? I'm very interested in creating new vehicles and industries, but I have no idea how to get the finished models into the game. We need a faq or something.

hello Akalamania:
I don't have 3d draw program on my computer , that program cost over
$ 399.00 to buy. and I will say one thing I have the use of one hand due
a heart attack over six months ago. I wish I could draw the new ship.
but I cann't .
thank you

Besides that, not everyone is so artistic as the great modelmakers here

I wish I could make models myself, but I simply can't

who finds the oceansteamers very interesting and a good addition

Milkshape, Blender, and POVray are free, 3dsmax is not a necessity, but most people making trains and stuff for this game use it. Also i think there are student editions of maya and 3dsmax that cost quite deal less than the normal one does.

If titanic-sized super liners are added, do we have to add icebergs too? And use waypoints to go around them? heh heh

you need 3Dmax? *cough* - download - *cough*
i can model, i made some trains already. but i HATE figuring out which panning the camera's should render so as soon as i finished some, i'll send them over to a "professional" (which is odd, since i have a degree in multimedia graphics, including 3d animation).
for student version you suggested

3DS model of Titanic

Here's a link to a 3DS model of Titanic for you to study...
http://www.quad-helix.com/titanic.htm
As a maritime history fan/collector I can say the screenshot looks good, although I think funnels may need to be taller. Can't make out the black tops (above the buff colour) against the black background.
An Olympic-class liner - there were three: Olympic, Titanic, Britannic - would be most welcome.

Dont forget Lusitania-Class Liners.

by Quince99
Absolutely - Lusitania/Mauretania/Aquitania too!
Would be equally viable to have one of the large Art Deco liners such as the Normandie, Queen Mary, Nieuw Amsterdam which would be in service from 1935 up to about 1970.
Given my earlier link about the 3DS model of Titanic, I wonder what the possibility of using that would be? This needs to be addressed by someone with working knowledge of 3D Studio Max (or similar program) since I have no experience of 3D modelling.

It'd be a nice touch, but with how impatient the passengers are and how slow the ships are in-game, I'm not too sure how useful it would be.

Earlier liners, (Aquitania, Olympic) had top speeds of around 23 knots (just under 30 mph) whilst later ones (Queen Mary, Normandie) ran flat out for the Blue Riband at 35 knots (43 mph).
This puts them under the hovercraft and jetfoil's speed but of course, they have vastly larger passenger/cargo-carrying capability. Early liners were often combination cargo-passenger liners with the people often sharing space (not directly!) with cattle and sheep.
Being a fan, naturally I'd be biased simply in favour of having something visually resembling one of these leviathans running around my coastline, regardless of operating at a loss. Given how easy it is to make a profit, ocean liner running would (at Quince Transport anyway!) be heavily subsidised...

you'd only need one ship to fill the void. Not twenty. Pick the one even uneducated homeless people would know the name of. The titanic.
one ship will be fine

by CZAR ALEKSANDER
hello people:
one ship will be fine let it be the TITANIC but who will draw the ship I
cann't because I cann't draw any thing, the passenger and mail the ship must be correct, the real TITANIC carried 2,228 passengers and 900 bags
of mail plus all kinds of cargo. I will try to find a good picture of the Titanic
thank you

Aye, but the Titanic in Loco won't carry that much. The most it should carry, theoretically, would be 891 passengers and 360 bags of mail. However, the engine's limitations will restrict it to a good deal less than that.

Why not just ask the guy if you could use his model to make 2d sprites? Im sure if credit was given to him he wouldnt mind too much if you used it considering there isnt any money involved and he offers it for free download.
