hi,
don't you want to release version 0.3.5-r1 in gentoo portage? there were some bugs about network game in 0.3.5, i think it would be a good idea release new (sub)version with some patches for it.
There are lots of bugs in 0.3.5, a good number of which are fixed in the nightlies.
I'm wondering why they havn't released 0.3.5.1 yet (or if they're simply going to wait till bigmaps are done and release 0.3.6
The next release will be 0.3.6 and should be released by the end of this month/beginning of next month. It is mainly a bugfix release and an usability release. After that we're planning version 0.4.0 with the main new feature being bigger maps. The new map array will be in 0.5.0. Don't ask for any dates when we will release these versions. It's written in the stars.

Ok, I have done an updated ebuild for OpenTTD 0.3.5. If you want to test it out just overite /usr/portage/games-simulation/openttd/openttd-0.3.5.ebuild with this (it will be wiped when you emerge sync) or put it in your Portage overlay.
I just put bugzilla report on gentoo.org, and now it seems like 0.3.6 is in portage, but it's masked as always so, you need to unmask it first to merge.
Well the latest version of the ebuild is basically the same as my 0.3.5 one but upgraded for 0.3.6. The masking is still a bugger, but I suppose not that many devs have copies of TTD (maybe we could donate a few ). Also its easy to sort out the masking problem:
