In ttdpatch the ICE3 has TA. I wonder if it is not rather problem of GRF loading.

He said "DBSetXL", which is distinct from the "DBSet", and the name there is Michael Blunk.
And believe me, he knows about these features, and uses them. He's the reason half of the newgrf spec *exists*, for pete's sake.

Sry, forgot to add XL... ofcourse, i've meant it. And hadn't remembered name of author (but yes, i know it :) )
I see that they do work in TTDP (have 2.5.b8), but for some reason (unlike british train set) tilting attribute isn't properly recognized by ottd... maybe UKRS specifies it somewhere explicitly for ottd.

how come my savegame works in latest nightly and not in sync'd mini-in? has the ukrs got something to do with that?

Loading a game from a nightly into a MiniIN is a bad idea if you ask me. But if you're talking about ukrs, be sure you have the same GRFs installed in version that you're now playing with.

The current DBSetXL predates the tilting attribute, so it doesn't use it.

One of the design ethos of the MiniIN is that you should *always* be able to load from the Nightly into MiniIN.

For some reason, a rumour did the rounds that the MiniIN cant load Nightly games. It has always been able to since r4950. Please dont amplify this false rumour.

If its not loading, its a bug. Since the guy has a problem with this, its worth finding out why.

Can you provide your original nightly savegame, and tell us what revision of the Nightly and MiniIN you used. (Latest is meaningless)

I was unaware of the existence of such a rumour.

I wasnt either until I saw a fellow dev assuring someone that the MiniIN could not load Nightly games. I was rather surprised to put it mildly! The current situation is a bug, no more.

It hopefully was a bug; it should already be solved in the SVN version, but you'll have to wait till the next MiniIN 'nightly'.

I have had an error with MiniIN 7122

I can't load my scenarios :?

I created a heightmap over an island called Orust.

Saved it.. Then, when trying to Load it, my game couldn't read it :?

The scenario itself would be nice, otherwise it's impossible to debug.

However, my best guess is that your scenario does not have any towns, which will make OpenTTD (any version) not load the scenario for a new game, as it needs at least one town in the game. Try loading the scenario in the scenario editor, add a town, save it and try to start a new game of it.

I did load it in a scenario.. I think :?

EDIT: Okey, that was the problem :P

alright, after a nice night of playing with the latest MiniIN i've come to the conclusion that this is seriously quite brilliant. great work!

edit: alright, one minor point; when i loaded my original nightly savegame, the MiniIN decided to ignore all my full load commands. so i had to redo all 88 trains, because they all made little to no profit.

A compiler fault has been introduced in the Nightly, causing all nightly builds to fail. When MiniIN was synced with the Nightly, it also acquired this fault.

Code: Select all

/usr/lib/gcc/i386-mingw32msvc/3.4.5/../../../../i386-mingw32msvc/bin/ld: cannot find -lfontconfig
make: *** [openttd.exe] Error 1

It's a compile farm problem. But you can still compile it by yourself if you want :)

The thing is, not everyone knows how to compile (I don't) and so I shall just wait untill the compile farm is fixed :D
