Hello, thanks for your message and compliments. Like how you used other buildings to try make your stadium.

We had no power here today so not able to do any project work, but hope to see what I can do about corners after diner. Not sure how long will take me as not going to be easy.

The hardest part can find images of stadiums front view, but not easy to find from other angels so some of my work I do is just guess work and often included several designs in one.

Cheers

Had more power problems during the night and computer would not start this morning .. dead as a dodo. Pulled out all the wires and cabbles, reconnected and lucky it started. But gues that a early warning sign that I might be having computer problems soon.

Any way, how this for a stadium around a cricket pitch.

Only done the concrete shading for the corners so far and no people yet. Thought get others opinion first see if these be ok.

Cheers all

That looks really good!

Just wondering though if the entrances need to be that big...
I believe that the ones you used for the grey grandstands were about half as high, that may look a bit better maybe (and increase the seating-capacity for the stadium owners ;-) )

Thanks Quast65 for your complement.

The entrances looked smaller in the grand stands as they was going down flight of stairs. Most of the people in game are 6 pixels high so think the entrance need to be at least 8 high so no one bump their noggins, especially if they use these for basketball games as those players are a wee bit taller. :D

Just notice the entrance in the image facing South-west .. I never finished the shading in it.

See if can fix and make some more corner units.

Cheers

Good point!

What I am missing in the opposite stands are the row-lines (those two-pixel dark reds).
Those are very visible in the main grand-stand and in the front-view version, but not in the opposing ones

And is the shading of the main grand-stands roofs different, so adjusted to either facing sun or shade? (I havent checked the GRF, I am just looking at the pictures you posted).

They suppose to represent the gap between seats where people can walk. But couldn't seem to show them properly with the opposite ones.

Maybe I could change them to be same colour as the corner the darker grey looks like a big Y suppose to be the stairs between rows.

Woops I forgot to change the roof as that direction should be a bit darker.

I'll upload the latest image in a few moments. Just about to test it in a game.

Back soon

I added people to the corner seats, but the one facing you looks a bit strange as peoples faces almost same colour as some of the seats. Might also need to space the people a part might help that problem.

I've increased the Cricket grounds from 3x3 to 3x4 size. I think it looks a lot better especially with the stadiums around it. If you agree will make some other sporting fields a bit bigger as well.

In the mean time you can try what I done and if see something not look proper let me know.

Hope over the next several days move the sports from AuzTownObjects into this set and also make some adjustments to them.

I dont think that the fans that paid a lot of money for seasontickets would like to look at the lightpoles ;-)
Maybe just add those as separate objects so they can be placed outside the stadium.

But the get an exclusive view that no other fans will see. Plus they can glimpse some of the cricket either side of the pole :D

The poles interesting to where to put them .. the image I used for my design is this one.

The poles in this image are in the seats and bigger.

Possibly could do that as I want to make some high fences to go around the whole set so could be part of the fences.

Hard to get photos of this place as it been upgraded and all new stadium all the way around the grounds now.

In the stadium can see where I got the idea of those dark red pixels. Only seen in stadium, not else where as different seating type.

I see, I guess the builder of the stadium already got paid by the main sponsor in barrels of beer, before placing the poles

I think those dark spots are on the sides of the steps (to show rows/seating-numbers), in that case they should be part of the grey lines between the lighter colors.
In the opposite views they would then not be visible (so no changes needed there then)

I agree about the light poles, tuck 'em on the backsides of the stands would look nicer and not so in the way. :)

When this beer was first made they got so drunk and couldn't remember how to spell beer that how it got its name XXXX (4 X) :D

Those seats in the stadium (grand stand) section seem to be wooden seats (cricket a summer sport so wooden seats would not be so hot to sit on for those who pay extra) with rows between them where the dark part is that could be row numbers. So maybe a black or dark grey would look better.

The seating not part of that grand stand are continues concrete seats with a yellow stair way. The stair ways have the red railing each side so possible these are the entrance/exit areas. They didn't have those subway entrances like I did, but I don't know what entrance they actually had. I think people exiting the grounds would go up those yellow stairs and probably more stairs at back going back down to ground level.

Wondering if I might make a few changes. Maybe the concrete ones I did, I remove that red pixels and make the seats continuous as in the image I uploaded before and I could put the yellow path (stairs)in something like this or up the middle.

I finished moving all the sports from AuzTownObjects to AuzSportObjects.

I will not upload them for a few more days to make sure I not missed anything and also have a bit of graphics work still to do.

The menu in AusSportObjects will be:
Auz: Car Racing
Auz: Horse racing
Auz: Athletics
Auz: Sport Fields (so far it has AFL, NRL, Cricket, Baseball and Basketball .. I plan to change the graphics to the Baseball and Basketball and add soccer, tennis, Hockey and grid iron. Can you think of any more).
Auz: Golf
Auz: Spectators

Here what the NRL field looks like when changed from a 2x3 to a 3x4.

Received a PM asking if I would put some cheer girls and ball boys and girls in the outer field .. who agrees. Must admit it the cheer girls that attract most of the crowds. :D

I looking at idea of the seating .. plan to make another set of those from the back view and replace the red steel girders with brick, doors and windows to represent toilets, places to buy food, entrances and exits.

Still working on Sports.

The NRL grounds are now larger to allow room for cheer girls and ball boys.

Also made some fences to go around the playing fields as well as a set to go around the whole complex.

Some questions for you .. if you use these sporting objects will you use the fields with or without players? Wondering if the fields without players is needed?

Possible the grand stands instead of empty ones, maybe make this half full or maybe half empty.

The NRL and Grid Iron have cheers squads .. wonder if soccer, hockey and what other sports would also have them?

Gotta say, Garry, I haven't been keeping up on the objects side of things (I've been focusing on learning how to code in NML, for everyone who isn't Garry), but these look absolutely fantastic! Can't wait to see more.

Yes, a lot of the bigger sporting complexes have multiple fields, or a trainingfield next to the main stadium.

I dont know if anyone has mentioned this before, but those nice stone walls look a bit odd being just one pixel thin...
