And when should they close? No closure at all looks silly.
I meant company's I'm currently serving not random company's on the map :)
I can prevent the industry, that is build by the player, from closure. That sounds reasonable. But a random industry that is serviced badly has no reason to be protected. Industries with good service do not close. What do you think?

I've had industries close even with 75-80% pickup from them and with lots of cargo being delivered to them as well. Is this a bug? Or is this still supposed to happen somehow? And is there any chance of reducing the chance of closure a little bit further?

you could have some sort of difficulty setting perhaps- (by parameter or linked to the difficulty seeing if that is possible). Hard and easy- hard industries close if less than 75%, easy- industries close if less than 55% (or something).

A lot of my games I only play to look nice, and dont focus on efficiency, and find it hard to meet the 75%. 55% would still mean that industries would not closee so often but unserved industries would. Yet keeping it as it is by default perhaps would still give a challenging game for those that wished.

Yes, except it is a mine that is exhausted (then it is closed when exhausted).
Provide a save game at least 3 months before closure of the industry. I'll have a look.

ECS Goldmine

I've got a question concerning the ECS GoldMine.

Normally the production goes up if you provide a good service. ">75%"
How does the production change at a goldmine?

I had a "service =99%" mine and the production did not change at all (ok... sometime 36 to 48, sometimes back to 36)

~~~~
Another thing: I would really love to setup the "good service" ratio. Maybe with parameters. I'm talking about the things mph suggested in the posting above mine. (see post)
In the TODO list. With a low priority.
[edit] tried to reproduce the error - it does not occur any moe.
I'm sorry.
top the oil well bug I reported some week ago.
Thanks! You fixed that REALLY fast!
Thank you so much!
Oh, that's cool! I'm really looking forward to it.
You projects (in particular the ECS vectors) are simply outstanding!
Since now on, I've decided to stop my GRF testing on both platforms and leave only one (OTTD).
That does not mean, that I shall not try to support TTDP any more, but that means that I shall make TTDP related changes and bug fixes only by request.
TTDP users! I'm sorry, but it takes too much time to support both platforms and I had to select one. OTTD is developed faster, and that's why I've chosen the OTTD. Hope for understanding.
Hi,
I have a question.
is it possible to make Mines and other primary ressources have unlimited reserve ?
for sand, coal, iron ore, oil, and other ressources of that type.
'cause when we make a multiplayer, if you don't play very often, sometimes you come back and see all your mines closed 10 years ago.
Yes it is posible, if you use parametrs but i was loking for them so long and couldnt find it, only working parametrs,i have found, are for basic vector ant it is
Code: Select all
0 7
I have no internet connection until July or later. I have to visit the library to go online and they only allow 1 hour per day. George, I suggest you write something now and I can edit it when I have my internet connection back.
I shall not write anything before September.
Unfortunatelly, there is still no normal documentation present on these parameters :( but I've checked the .grf files, and found inside them some text remarks concerning this. So, if you wish to made all mines endless, and to made unlimited storage place of all factories, you should set the parameters in this way:
ECSTownw.grf 0 0 0 3
ECSBasicw.grf 0 3
ECSMachw.grf 3
ECSWoodw.grf 3
ECSAgriw.grf 3
ECSChem2w.grf 3
The thing is, that each mine type belongs to it's own vector (see there), so to set all mines to "unlim" you need to specify parameters for corresponding vectors.
Maybe, you can add those infos to the ECS wiki? ( http://wiki.ttdpatch.net/tiki-index.php?page=ECS )
Just wait for George to confirm that information because there may be side effects, etc.
