It's about 74% vehicles (including the wagons).
Sanchimaru: For the next version I want to code the 353 Diesel,
the Talgo XXI DMU and the 100 AVE EMU. But I need to know how the wagons should be (i.e. what's the passengers car and what's the mail car etc.). Could you help me with this, please?

Hello!
I bring some new stuff...
but first:
Death, the new town names with ñ's is great! Thanks for the quick update.
I also enjoyed the TalgoIII a lot... I was so impacient to see it running
About the cars:
TalgoXXI:
1st row: passenger car
2nd row: mail car
3rd row: passenger car (dining) one every 5 cars
As for the AVE:
1: car with head of train (any: pass/mail)
2: mail car
3 & 4: passenger car, make them alternate: 343434...
5: car with tail of train (any: pass/mail)
Well, time to pass to the news:
I've ellaborated 2 new name lists: one for catalan town names, and one for basque. I don't know basque language at all, and its grammar is totally different to romance languages, so it might be a big mess... but I used more or less common name parts. We'll see...
As for how to code it: the catalan part only has one specific detail: it uses letter Ç in one of the words (Sant Llorenç)
And for basque, I'd need yet another special feature from the coder:
when the end of the prefix and the beginning of the suffix are the same letter, assimilate them so that only one appears (e.g. Azkoi+ibar=Azkoibar; Iratza+aga=Iratzaga)
So there should be 3 name groups, and at the moment of creating one town, a random pre- and suffix is chosen from within one of the 3 groups at random.
And another thing:
I have made a very rough version of the hi-speed tracks. There are no tunnels, road crossings, etc. Only the plain tracks so that we can see them in game. I'm sorry I didn't align all of the sprites... However, if that is too much of a problem, I'll work on it.

Wooo! I see that I have a lot of work.
Anyway, I have one question on the Catalan names:
When I open the text file, the names appear as one long word/string which has a space after each letter, and I don't understand it (

).
Could you please list it as the Basque names?
[Edit:]

It's O.K. I'll do that.

Thank
Sanchimaru,

I added these names to the file, check it out (in your/my signature)

About the speed way, I made a grf so you can test it now (below).
Oh! I feel like my brain is going to blow-up.
enjoy!
[edit:]
Krtaylor, I added a DOS grf of the spanish names (although I don't see the difference), so you can add it to the site.

AFAIA, the only difference between Windows and DOS grfs is the colour palette. So for grfs with no graphics, they'll be the same.

Sanchi, your highspeed tracks kick ass

I love the two-parts sleepers.
Plans to add a catenary?
I hope you'll still be willing to let us share them in the FRSet.

Correct. Except that for Win vs DOS purposes, character glyphs aren't graphics. (GRFCodec is not smart enough to realize this, and will attempt to map character-glyph sprites. Don't let it do that.)

Wow!! Death, you work so incredibly fast! The files are excellent, I already tested them.
Thanks to patch support too, now town names are ordered correctly and not repeated.
Snail: indeed, I readed somewhere that there will be patch support for new track types, with catenary support, so we will be wanting to add one for the speed track. Did you download and test the GRF? let me know what do you think about it.
one shot of the TalgoIII running on high speed track.

Nice Shot!
By the way, I need to know how the 353's wagons should be. (I feel uncomfortable to ask you about
every MU and its wagons

)

Oh, don't worry, actually it's my fault not to have given a precise explanation of all of them...
about the Talgo pendular cars:
-first car (next to the locomotive)
-dining car (one every 5 cars)
-mail
-passengers
The liveries are for each timeline: 1st and 2nd random (depending on locomotive) until 1983 ; 3rd 1984~2004 ; 4th 2005~
another one: AVE 102 "pato"
-first & last car
-passenger
-mail
We will have to ask Purno about the 103...
Ah, one more thing! I was testing the files the other day and thought: is it possible to have a GRF set automatically some options? so that the Spain set GRF automatically inserts the following parameters: currency: peseta, drive on right, measure: kilometers, city names: spanish

Unfortunately, I no longer have VirtualPC and can't really find the time to install TTD in my DosBox... but I did see the pic, and I like them very much. Maybe they could use a bit of gravel more? But even like this, they're really well done. They give the idea of modern concrete sleepers.
If you put the catenary on, it would be great! We could use it as well in our set.
BTW, connected to this: has anybody out there developed a third rail system? I think I remember seeing something like that.

Thanks
Sunchimaru,
But still I misunderstand something with 353...
The Excel file show that the red locomaotive have the Talgo III wagons, and it's appear untill 1983 and only
then the white and the green should replace the red one. It doesn't fit to what you said.

Yes. But as far as I know not all of them. I can only change the currency and the measurement.
I will try it for the next version.
I can also make the grf disabled if the road traffic side is left, but I think it's better not to do so.

Well, I wasn't referring to Sanchi's tracks, which are (still) non electrified. I was speaking in general. I believe someone did draw some sprites for a third-rail system, is that right?
Posted: 20 Jun 2006 22:04
by krtaylor
I never heard of it, and I'd think the sprite would be awfully crowded if you tried to cram a third rail into it. Could be wrong though.

Death: Indeed, I was looking at both car sets at the same time and I finally mistook them!
The timelines for Talgo pendular are:
1984~89 (1 and 2 random)
1990~2004 (3)
2005~ (4)
