Why do you dispute this? Surely we can produce graphics however we like? :?

Well, firstly, it´ll depend on the exact definition of "produce", resp. "any method to produce", but I don´t want to go into much detail at that very time, at least not in this thread.

And secondly, I have a strong feeling that TTD´s graphics should remain in the 8-bit drawing tradition and not change to the usual rendered stuff, possibly à la locomotion, or even more shinier.

That may well be a biased stand, especially in a world of rendered true colour graphics.

I´ve already written something more elaborate concerning this issue over here.

regards
Michael

I'll drink to that!

THIS DISPUTE ENDS NOW

It is being conducted civilly in private messages and other forms of communication. No more discussion about it in the thread.

Thank you.

Well, my vote goes to daylight, just because I'm partial to station buildings, and that one deserves coding.

Thank you.
Due to my recent two day absence (work and social life I'm afraid), I didn't have a chance to step in until now.

I've removed posts after Dave asked for all to cease. I am also asking for things to cease. If anything is spoken publically in this thread about the incident, I'll gladly ask Dave what he would like done about it.

There's no real need to keep it going after the person devoting their time to organising this contest says to stop. Thats not moderation, thats courtesy - he's giving up his time to run the thing, why not respect his wishes, and discuss elsewhere.

As I said, some posts removed, if people think they lost something that was not OT in those posts, PM me and I'll quote them below.

I've got a few things to say

1. I am the competition leader.
2. I make the decisions re: the competition.
3. The issue raised by the removed post in this thread was already resolved as per the above discussion.

I will NOT tolerate people polluting the thread putting forward their petty accusations, however valid they may be.

First of all - I have spoken to a number of people one would consider experts on this matter.

Secondly - I have spoken to Simo, who reveals it was indeed a model of the building in the game mentioned - but with his own rendering and modelling forced upon it. Some of the people I relayed this message to disagreed, and I had my doubts... HOWEVER

I gave him the benefit of the doubt for this month

Needless to say from now on all art MUST be self-created, specifically in relation to rendered models.

I will NOT organise a competition where petty accusations are thrown around, especially not in the attitude that the message was posted in. By all means complain, but do so via private message OR e-mail TO ME ONLY. The issue had been resolved privately.

Sort yourselves out. And start entering for next month.

Give 'em hell, Dave! Grrrrr!

I just wanted to pop in, and give a quick "Thanks!" to all who voted for my humble, little casino. () Good news is that I'm tweaking the drawings of all of the tourist industries (Goodrich castle, Palenque ruins, and Diamante casino), as well as testing George's coding of them. So, stay posted for a beta version of the ECS Tourist set!

Also wanted to give my regards to all of the other artists who submitted their outstanding artwork. I know from experience that it's a good deal of work to push all of those pixels into a coherent form. I mean, just look at the screenshots thread to see how far the artists, and coder brethren, have taken (O)TTD(P)!

Cheers! Keep up the great work, and I'm looking forward to this month's contributions!

Why are the brushes for bronze and silver in red? The brush for gold is golden.

It makes no difference... We still have only one entry. This month's competition won't be going ahead at all at this rate. Entries please, gentlemen.

Entries this month:

As you can see, there really aren't many entries so far, so I will extend the entry time by another week.

Come on gentlemen, let's see some art!

Sorry, Dave. I've been busy with uni and finishing up the US Roads Set and CanStnSet. I've got nothing new to show/share. :(

Maybe in a week....
