Well the type 3's seem 100% stable. altho one beta testers could not get the type 3's and the scenario installed from the auto mod to work.. odd-ness ...
i made all the type 3's played them in my save game no issues other then they vibrate in the buy train box and hte tender sits offcenter behind them.. i noticed chris's tenders have the same bug. so the game code for steamers/tenders is obviously bugged... i was dissapointed with the type-3's myself because of graphics, they are jurky on turns and the tender issue that no mattter what i do cant be fixed. then to make it worse i made a secenario with them and then noticed the bogies sticking out !!! (that did not happen when added to a save game) thats what i get for rushing.... so i'll fix those up soon and post them if people are still happy with type-3's.
I am trying to package a premature us set 2.0 first. i somehow totaly lost 30 or so dat files and nave beta and release stuff mixed to tether now. so i have to house clean my harddrive.....
the type 4 hit the might hit the garbage. I had my first crash with them lastnight... i'll beta test them a bit more..

yeah, they work for me too, but, I can't release a pack that only work for a dozen people and crash everyone else.
the Type-3 are dead on clones of Chris's Steamers with all his bugs. they only have 3/4's(?) the frames (136 frames deleted) so they are a bit "jerky" it seems that the full number of frames is "unstable" for some PC's. I hate making the Type-3. I literally have to render 10 objects then run each one through 7 programs and 6 scripts and then still edit a LOT by hand. each Type-3 steamer takes the time of about a dozen other vehicals.
I am honestly not happy with the looks of the type 3 for right now. but i am happy with the stability of them. I tried the type-3 over a year ago and scrapped them cause of the looks.. sometimes you have to go backwards to go forwards....
I might still keep releasing the type-1's for those that can use them, I just need a to write a long script. and i dont know if i'll do that at this point.

Forgives if I for me so openly appearance. However, why do the steam locomotives of Jose function perfectly? Also without several versions?

they are not animated... they dont have smoke... they dont have sound effects.. next question?
it is no differant then a boxcar with a tender?
There is a limit to what the game can handle for effects and animation. I am trying to push it to the edge....
if you want jose style steamers i can release 20 a day... but why?

Sorry for the delay on replying, they are working fine, just one thing, can you up the HP for the steamers to real world stats?

LoL i just nerfed the steamers.
they were way overrated. those are a pretty close ballance to what they were rated for and game stats. I played all of them for long period of time and felt this was a decent ballance.
dont forget that the class-a's have double headed steam for heavy freight and and some passenger.
PS. you can always change you own...

if i could make a suggestion ... new rolling stock which fits the steamers would be some really nice addition
but this is not so important ... i am much more excited about the upcoming us2.0

the rolling stock is WAY up on my list.. I made a game set in the 50's and realised i had nothing but coal and passengers.... so it is somthing I want to do bad. it is just the time. as far as 2.0, dont get to excited.. it is not all i wanted it to be at this point. it is mostly a simpler install (nad a few new items) the plan is to release Amtrak 2.2, Pre amtrak 1.2, US set 2.0 and automod 2.5 this week at once. there are just a few things delaying that. like time and bugged locos. I am working on 36' foot boxes, more 40 foot, tank cars, cattle and grain... I dont think thye will make 2.0 unless i put it on hold for a few days. I have the OK's on the models.. i just need the time....
