Wow! What a great list!

I really like how you've put the Builder and Country in the details!

I can't wait to have a tinker with this baby!

Actually the country and builder was not me - that was PikkaBird's work - he coded the set :).

Ahh, the prodigal Pikka strikes again :P.

Great work anyway - I really like the detail on the locos :D.

Wow, it's great that the site is advancing so rapidly. One question though: express what? Freight or passengers? Or mail? :)

Yes. :P

It is not [freight or passengers], but [freight] or [passengers]. :(

Would this function "Suitable for" also make it impossible to put, for example, an express loco in front of a non-express train?

It's just a little hint about what sort of tasks the locomotive is designed for. There are no actual restrictions. :)

Ok, that's very fine :)

STOP TEASING MEEEEEE!! :( :(    :!:

I think the garrat with the tanker does not need a tanker cuz it has one on the front.

hhmm... i will get confused with a tanker train

GMAM loco were designed with the auxilarry water tender. No way around it :P

A song from the future:

(UP TO DOWN)

FCX 2000

By 2010 it was obvious that the time of diesel fuel nears an end. In search of of the alternative the fuel cells were looked at. The result was the FCX 2000 locomotive. Destined for light duties it packs 2000 horsepower, nearly 400 kN of tractive effort and top speed of 120 km/h. Avalible from 2008.

Manufacturer: Alstom
Country of origin: Australia

WAG 10

You can't expect your locos to last forever. By 2015 IR's fleet of WAG 5 (and other types) started to quickly deteriorate. Finally an order was placed at Chittaranjan Locomotive Works for a new class of heavy freight locomotive. Hence class WAG 10 came to life. 7200 hp and 120 km/h make it pretty universal for both heavy freight and psgr traffic. Running gear came from Hitachi and creep control systems from EMD. Total of 512 kN can be obtained from just 122 tonnes. WAG 10's begun service in 2017

Manufacturer:Chittaranjan Locomotive Works
Country of origin: India

Class E 20

Spoornet's rapid expansion in southern africa quickly left it without motive power for trains that started to get heavier and heavier by each passing day. As a result the Union Carriage and Wagon recieved an order for a twin section 12000 hp locomotive capable of operation up to 160 km/h, yet. Class E20 entered service in 2011.

Manufacturer: Union Carriage and Wagon
Coutry of origin: South Africa

FCX 3000

Following the success of FCX2000 in 2020 Alstom refurbished its design to reflect the changes of technology. New polymer-metal composite fuel cells increased power output by 50% without any increase in fuel expenditure. New body styling reflects more mature product. 3000 hp, 120 km/h and 456 kN of tractive effort make it an excellent branch line hauler.

Manufacturer: Alstom
Contry of Origin: Australia

WAM 12

The newly refurbished line from New Delhi to Bombay required a new locomotive capable of operating at 225 km/h that was designed for this line. IR looked at many models but finally settled for Kolomna Locomotive Works offering. This little locomotive packs 9000 horsepower, but just 200 kN of tractive effort - but that is pretty irrelevant for passanger traffic. The revolutionary contact-less current collection increase catenary life by over 200% if only such locos are used. Avalible from 2027

Man this stuff has actually progressed to the "le sex" stage.

It is pure brilliance. Just cheat-yeared to 2000 and had a play with some of the locos... they're lovely, and run so well in game.

I, for one, salute you.

Future continued.

When the last GMAM garratt was scrapped it was sure that you will not see a steam loco again.

Well - think again.

In 2013 fuel crisis hit hard. In search for new motive power Spoornet looked at steam once again. This time in a garratt fashion. The locomotive was biult from ground up using the most innovative technologies - including MHD heat reclamator. THis new technology allowed the locomotive to reach efficiency not reachable for other steam locomotives - over 22% using atomized coal in ethanol bath as fuel.

GRXMAM is a 6000 hp locomotive capable of 475 kN at maximum speed of 100 km/h. Avalible from 2014.
