But what made I wrong? i've tried it with both *.pals from the zip-folder in palette express, with and without different settings, and after that i simply batched the bmp's to png in psp 8 - without loading a custom pal, because i don't know how and btw is that still necessary?

the .pal files are for Paint Shop Pro, and yes you need to load the palettes in it, shortcut for loading palette is Shift+O

Ok what i've done now:
i've written a script for psp8 with the following steps:
- load bmp
- load lomo.pal
- batch-export to png by using palette-based colors and interlaced mode + script
but it doesn't work.

If you read my posts you can see that I did NOT use Paintshop to convert the palette - I'm using Palette Express (
http://sunshine.ezthemes.com/software/d ... 78&id=1912).
As I explained earlier the steps are:-
1. Load model into LocoTSGfx, size it and generate 136 BMP images
2. Use Palette Express to set the image palette in the lomo.pal file
(you can only do 5 at once - but 30 passes isn;t to bad)
3. Then use Paintshop Pro to batch convert the 136 new BMP's to PNG
4. Use LocoTool to convert XML & PNG's to a DAT file
5. Copy DAT file to ObjData and create a new Scenario including
your new stock.
Incidentally having generated the PNG's for the A4 using Locotool I notice that this loco has 4 frames of animation for each orientation so you can see the rods moving. For your information, the viewer software at the heart of LocoTSGfx supports rod animation for steam engines so I should be able to make it do images in the same way - the A4 image set also seems to be set up completely different to what I generate in LocoTSGfx - if anyone can shed some light on what the orientations should be for a steam engine, I should be able to mod LocoTSGfx to do them...

Here is a patch which fixes the lighting problem (L and Shift/L keys):-
The other thing you can do is see how rod animation works (animated image generation will come next) with the 0,1,2,3 keys
Install the previous version and overwrite the exe from this zip file

Ok, that patch works perfectly, only one little problem:
I have mad a train but it overlaps the other parts of the train (see picture) is there a way to alter that distance?

qzdcg8: you better make a full download of all vehicles that're done, and maybe a website like scrat and oppie.

There's something wrong in your xml file...
As I've said before, I have virtually no idea how the XML file is constructed apart from the image links and xofs and yofs parameters - there is obviously a parameter somewhere which says how long the piece of rolling stock is and its too short on yours.

I'm working on allowing Locomotion downloads from my 'trainsim home site (not run by me though)'
http://www.uktrainsim.com - this has a file download library that this site really needs...
Pretty soon I will post on here a full list of what MSTS models on
http://www.uktrainsim.com have been given permission to be converted to Locomotion images - I can tell you some of the best modellers in the MSTS world have already said yes! I have a list of 544 stock items so far, and they include UK Classes 01,07,08, 20, 22, 24, 25, 31, 37, 40, 41, 42, 43, 45, 46, 47, 55, 56, 60, 76, 77, 90, 117, 153, 158, 165, 166, 170, 205, 220, 221, 313, 325, 334, 357, 365, 370, 375, 377, 413, 414, 421, 423, 438, 465 and 506. Steamers are too numerous to mention, but all CAN have that 4 frame rod animation when I get it sorted.
In the meantime, see
http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic.php?t=37976 for details...

000.bmp to 135.bmp equals 136 images - did you miss 000.bmp

Nope, the
last thing we need is a sh1tty queue system which only allows you 2kB/s. Well, the last thing besides having actually
having to pay before getting in with a shout at downloading.
On a more serious note, nice to see that so many are happy to show some support and share their work (for a change).

Ahem - how else can you run a site supporting a userbase this site can only dream of and support 11 Terabytes of downloads in 3 years - UKTS has thrown out 5000 copies of my 32Mb MSTS route alone over 2 years - thats 160Gb of just my stuff!!! You can get stuff without paying - you just have to queue - depends how bad you want the stock?

11TB of downloads in 3 years is 300GB per month. Quite a few places offer packages with more bandwidth than that for £30-40/month. That's easily affordable even on a small five-figure salary. Consider also CD sales at £4 each. Production costs are nowhere near that, so there's a good margin to be made there.
If the webmasters are sensible souls, then they're buying material in bulk.
Sale of 100 CDs - £400
100 CDs - £12
100 jewel cases - £20
Postage on 50 packages, each containing 2 CDs - £140
100 padded envelopes - £20
100 address labels - £4
100 sheets of white card - £4
10% commission for payment processing: £40
Grand total: £240
Profit: £160
If the userbase is as large as you make out, I imagine the orders come in thick and fast enough that this in itself should pay around 30% of the hosting bill, if not more. Then there's the advertising - again, with such a large userbase, the adverts have a large reach, and therefore getting the CPMs credited pretty quickly.
Anyway, enough of people trying to justify unnecessary profits ...

You DO need a proper file library though - stuff is littered all over these forums with no way of indexing anything - its just hunt for posts starting [rel] or similar

We do, but not here. This is the TT
Forums.

A library would certainly be useful, though. Something along the lines of ttdgraphics.cjb.net, but less stupid in its design and more frequently maintained.
