Wonderful. That offers a few extra options for players to design their own stations.

You're welcome ;-)
WIDO's have been coded as waypoints too (all placement options, start/middle/end of tile) and I also made a WUBO-waypoint:

Wubo's can be bigger, they actually should match the signals but those are way too big. You made them around the same height as the Wilo.

I think there was a staiotn with a crossing in the middle. Not sure if it was Simpelveld before it closed.
I once seen a station with a sign above the Ahob saying people should not open that door during a halt because there is no platform under it.

Picture of the simpelveld situation:

Just before the train you can recognize the barrieres

Wubo's can be bigger
Agreed, made them 2 pixels higher. Is indeed better.

I stopped trying to make the walkover Purno made a while ago, fit into the set. It was just too low. Making it the correct hight would make it as big as the overpass that is already in the set and it would not fit on to one tile anymore.

But I am working now on some non-track tiles. Tiles with a ramp (for disabled access) and stairs are done.
I'm also making those tiles with some eyecandy on them.
Is the eyecandy recognisable? Four things: Yellow thingy, orange thingy, green thingy and grey thingy, can you guess what they are?
That way I know I am on the right track with drawing them ;-)

Green: Phone booth (well not really a booth, but a public Phone, or whatever it is in english)
Yellow: Ticket machine
Orange: Emergency Phone?
Grey: Oversized trash can?

Orange would be the Metro bin-thingy in which they put the newspapers for people to take.

Is the green one really an public phone booth? Those barely exist anymore.

Considering scenery, most of the station tiles are quite empty and plain. Perhaps you could add some scenery to other tiles? Perhaps a simple lightpost, bench, trashbin or plant will do enough to make it look less plain.

Good work though. I like those ticket machines! Not really recognizing the other things though :P

It makes the set really look good, Quast65 and I recognised all of the stuff. 'nough said :D.

Very recognizable, next thing to add a bicycle parking?

bicycle parkings for sure, and maybe add some benches/roofings for the platforms, i agree with purno that it is all a bit too empty
maybe ask MB how he added some people on platforms, just to break the emptyness up

Thanks for all the feedback!

- The trashcan is not too good, I'll see if I can make a smaller one, or just use the one that is already in the set (next to the benches)
- Phonebooths are not seen a lot anymore, however they are okay for some earlier games (80's/90's). I think I will put them on a seperate tile though, so one can choose.
- The ticketmachines turned out ok and I like how they look next to the ramp/stairs, I think I will also make some platformtiles that have them.
- The orange Metro newspaper thingy, well that is fairly modern. I think I will also make them on a separate tile, so one can choose to use it or not.
- @Purno, good idea for the empty spaces, especially for the empty space in front of the non-track Hilversum. I'll put some benches and lampposts etc in them.
EDIT: how is this for Hilversum:

- Bicycle parkings/sheds, I would like them to be in the set. I'll see if I can draw some nice ones.
- People on platforms, I will not do that. Could mean a complete recode/redrawing of all tiles. @ZxBiohazardZx, the tiles I was showing are not platformtiles. They are tiles that can go next to a platform. So you are still free to place any kind of platform next to them (be it with benches/lampposts/overpasses/roofs/etc)

Some Ov-chip poles or gates might be nice to finish it off.

I thought about that already ;-) But they would become so small that you can't recognise them (about 3 or 4 pixels high and 1 pixel wide). So that would be pretty useless...

I made some tiles with all kinds of stuff on it:

And I made tiles with bikesheds, based on this:

How do they look?

I think you should just add a bit more space between.

Is there going to be any historical stuff?

they look quite well, but those are the "new" version ones, most stations have vast racks of uncovered ones

also add some bikes, the ones on the big central stations are always filled with bikes, some are perma-parked there....

IMO if you add bikes, you also need to add people. IMO they fall into the same category. It'd look silly to have a station full of parked bikes, but no-one waiting on the platform.

The set I'm working on uses the original graphics of the Dutch Station Set as a base for new sprites. Those tiles are all fairly modern (post-WW2 or even a bit newer), so this set will also be fairly modern. The only thing historical in it could be stationbuildings, but they will have to be drawn by somebody.
I have no further intention to include any more historical stuff (like old style platforms and eyecandy) and I think that if someone was willing to work on that, that it would be better if that was a seperate set.

About uncovered ones: Without the roofs, the only thing you are left with are some grey pixels. It isn't as recognisable.
EDIT: Ahh well, just 4 tiles. Don't like it? Don't use it ;-)

And again a little update, currently I'm working on some dutch metrostations.
A while ago I already drew a Rotterdam entrance, its now also coded. And I made some plantbarges to go with the metrostations (will probably code them as non-track tiles too, they look okay)
But I'm also working on the new Amsterdam metro entrance, how does it look (it's the red one)?
I know it needs texturing, but is the basic shape okay?
