If you get what i mean.
Well, I only make screenshots if they are promo screenshots, where there is not a full set out. Until there is a reasonably high percentage of a set done, I can't do my best work.

As to the buffers, they are not in public release yet.

Mtwsit? My savegame? When I've finished with this game, you guys are more than welcome to it. I notice DanMacK has picked up my scenario which I used for this game, which you can find in the correct thread too.

Hey, if it's produced a savegame THAT good, I'd give it a try ;)

Aaah, Rai, Nice screenies as always. Very nice. i like the newstations and the new release of the DBsetXL. Are you allowed to tell the public release??? I will probably give your map a go next. Now with the one way roads, your higways make real sense...

Nice screenie also from CeleronXL. You could improve it though, by making the trains not to go up and down the bridges that many time.

Anyways, now also some screenies from my side. Updates on my Prague Scenario. I'm having a real blast from it. Great thing to build Commuter lines and bus networks.

First is some overview of the no-mans-land between Pankrac and Nove-Mesto. A wild mixture of Freight, Commuter and Mainlines, together with roads etc. Now there is also a plan to introduce some motorways, that will somehow have to pass trough this mess...

the town of Malesice finally got its Metro connection. The station is a bit outside but as such will be connected soon also. To the left you can also see the remains of the old line going to Vrsovice. That station has been removed and the line rerouted to go into the same station. The rolling material however has not changed and is already over 40 years old.

On the right, there has been some replacing action on the short coal line. Finally, the old old steamer has been replaced by a V100, only the hoppers remain the same, but that suits me, as the output from the coalmine is low anyways...

The station in Nove-Mesto also got some more action now. It is also connected to the bus network, and on the space of the former sawmill, a nice housing estate has been built. Space is becoming a real problem in the area around the center, and Nove-Mesto is therefore building upwards...

The station between Stresovice and Stranov used to be in the middle of the fields. Now it is surrounded by houses and has bus connections to both towns.
In my chart posted before, it is mentioned as Stresovice-Stranov.

Stresovice as such got its own station much closer to the centre, but for Stranov, this is the only metro connection. But it has been compensated by frequent buses to the neighbouring towns and down towards the Historic Centrum station too.

Couple of years later, and the Government has decided that they need Motorways... New technologies introduced by the German "Oskar Inc." has allowed one way signaling and the Czech's have handed me the order to build some fast motorways.
As my main business is not really the roadfreight I didn't want to do it at first, but when I saw the profit margins, I thought differently.
The first stretch was built from Zbraslav to Pruhonice. Bus services to the towns along the way became possible and my sister company got to operate them. I was starting with some wood haulage, from the Zbraslav Forests to the Sawmill in Pruhonice.

following the motorway, the new vast bridges were required to span accross the river. two exits have been built for Zbraslav, even though the northern one is mainly used by my wood haulers.

The motorway continues and has at the same time, created the long awaited bypass of Radotin. Some earth movement was required to build this thing here. From here, the Motorway is climing up the valley, partly replacing the old road...

Also the town of Motol, already a notorious hotspot for different means of transportation, (Railways and Airports), has now finally also the Motorway connection. One condition to build the motorway, was to use old style bridges, to save the look of the town. I don't really see why, as the town is anything but a beauty, but we did as told and hired some experts in building oldstyle stone bridges. Traffic is however limited to 120 km/h on that bridge.

In Velke-Prilepy, in the northern corner of the map, the current motorway ends.
As you can see however, the junction to continue along the north-eastern direction is already built, so that will follow soon as well.

To cover the ever increasing demand for freight traffic, a new sister company was set up. It's the Road Freight Ltd., owned 75% by us, and some other investors. They had the crazy idea to paint all their trucks in Fire red... You can see them from far away for sure...
Grain, Livestock, Coal and wood is all hauled by them, accross almost half half the map.

Near the town of Predni-Kopanina, the motorway crossing has been built, for the one coming form the city. One of the bussiest spots already, and we have only just begun...

Also, a new company saw their chance with the new motorways, and has started some sort of Express bus network, using new Ikarbus Intercity coaches, which do a lovely 120 km/h. Of course, we had to have our share in that cake and it is now mainly controlled by us, but they are giving a good addition to our Commuter train networks.

Jumping back to the southern end of the map. The town of Pruhonice has complained about the ever increasing fourty tonners going right trough the middle of the city towards the sawmill.
So the Motorway was extended around the south side of the City and a new exit was created directly near the industrial area.
Also here, The Praha Express Bus Ltd. has started some actions, using the new stretch built towards Uhrineves for a new express bus line. At first however, they use those old and much slower double deckers, that they have taken over from me and repainted in their "lavendel" colour scheme.

[edit] I've got some more to come.. but not today. Got to finish the comments for them first....

Whoa, The Irish! It only goes to show that when you're quiet for a while, you're cooking up something big!

I really like all the different traffic on the motorway, that looks really good. Your railway network also seems to be a pleasent mix of realism (so poor Raichase here can understand it), and function.

What year are you in now?

Nice pics, The Irish, it's quite a change to see some more road pics, I only tend to use trains myself. Maybe now I'll be more tempted if I get some of these new features.

I've got two pics to share, I haven't put any on for a while, I've been a bit busy with other things. Anyway, as you'll see I've been playing with the BRSet again.

This first one shows Granford East goods station with the mainline passing on the right of the picture. I've got a fairly complex junction here and I'm always amazed it all works so well with PBS!

Image

The second one is an amazing piece of AI stupidity, one of the best I've seen! The line goes where the arrows indicate, the route is just incredible. Also the AI is running 190mph trains over wooden bridges!

Image

(I definitely didn't fake any of that screenie either!)

EDIT: Changed links to img tags because I think hardly anyone's seen these!

Hello! After several years of non playing, I recently started to play TTDX again (without all the nice features I found here).
Now I have got a logistic Problem shown at the pic. I have a factory were about 15 trains end. I made a 4x5 station. My idea was: when the first platform was occupied, the next train would go to the second platform, etc. This way the trains don't have to wait in line. But the problem (shown on the pic), is that the 2nd train still wants to go to the 1st platform intstead of the second. Can someone give me some tips (screenshot would be very nice :D) to solve this problem??
In the past I was able to do it like I want, but I forgot how :(

Thanks for the help. Greets Gertos

1. You need the patch to use pre-signals.
2. You generally only place 1 signal set per station entrance, not 2.

Anyways, here's a map view of my current game. It's the first game where I connected EVERYTHING to each other (Cities) via rail. No single-Liners, all network. Any train can go to any station it wants.

Use presignals or PBS signals instead. For example (and to keep being not off-topic) look at stations "Hrob" and "Vychodni prekladiste" here:
Image
If you are unfamiliar with signals, see the Hrob station. On the right, trains come inside. There is one track with one way entry signal, then it divides into many tracks comming to station. These tracks are equipped by two-way "out" signals - they have to be two way, otherwise it somehow does not work (either a Patch bug or a Patch featue I do not really understand). Signals after the station (on the left) are just simple one-way signals. In difficulty settings, trains are allowed to turn only at the end of the line, otherwise they have a nasty habit of going the other way out of the station thanks to the necessary two-way entry signals.

We are at North-Bohemian Brown Coal Basin. This is a weird and interesting part of landscape, where terrain changes abruptly and in a few steps you may walk from medieval city to moonlike landscape strip mines, from overgrown lost stations and rusty tracks by former shafts to well-prospering baths full of Arabian guests, from vast undemined areas of former villages to wood-covered dumps with character of a natural preserve. It is a land between the cloudy wall of Ore Mountains, sharp volcanic cones of Bohemian Central Mountains and flat farmlands by river Ohře.
The Tycoon version of this county is a bit more fortunate, for there are no large town-swallowing strip mines in the game. One such a pit may be seen westwards from Duchcov bath city, but it is there only because the terrain is generated from today's DMR. Old shafts of 19th and first half of 20th century may be seen almost everywhere requiring a complex train network. We may see mines by Osek, Marie-Lotta by city Bílina (offscreen) and some more between Hrob and Teplice bath city.
More mines are located eastwards where the eastern corridor goes. The large station in the middle of the screen is a transloading area. Coal from local mines transported by strong multiheaded mine trains - both steamers and more powerful electric ones - is unloaded there and waits for one of many fast trains, all of them composing of two 387.0 "Mikado" steamers and ten coal wagons. These head to a power plant by Tušimice, far on the west.
It is end of 1940s. At 1950s, this network will be expanded by a steep connection to Ore Mountains from Hrob. Iron ore mines (they were mostly non-iron polymethalic ones, but such ones ore not in the game) located at highland plateaus require to be served and there is a steel mill at Hrob. Fortunately, trains will be full when going down and empty when climbing upside, otherwise it would be quite a problem.

G'day, and welcome to the best forums on the net to this day (3:51pm AEST, 13/9/2005).

The solution to your problem, is to turn all of the one way signals there into two way signals. All of the ones lined up with the red one your train has stopped at, those should be two-way signals.

Two-way signals means that when a train gets to more than one set of them, it will always choose the green one. One-way signals, a train will always choose the one that gets it the closest to where it is trying to go, even if it is red.

Also, remove the signals between the station entrance signal and the station itself - they will just slow down your network.

If you need any more help, don't be scared to ask. We're paid* to help.
