Also think I can reduce the number of platforms. Where I have platforms for lights, fences, seats, awnings and signs, I think these platforms can be removed and the lights, fences, seats, and signs can be non-track tiles. That way you be able to place them on any platform no matter what the surface. For instance the lights (lamps) I need at least 5 sets for each platform type. This idea of making the lights as non-track I will only need one set for all 5 platforms .. does that make sense. I can than make different types of lights, fences, etc and you can use them how ever you like.

Please do not remove them. I often have situations where i would not have room for a Non Track Tile next to the platform.
You could keep one light per platform type and make them into non track tiles, so we can use them everywhere and have lights in cramped situations.
It is already a bit annoying to use footbridges in tight spots

I thought I had some footbridges designed as part of the platforms and also as non-tracks. Have to see what I can do about these. The Footbridge Old Style are non-track (I thought I had some on the platforms too). The Footbridge Modern are on the platforms and I hadn't done the non-tracks for these yet.

Also found some lost Footbridges. I made these over 2 years ago.

The top platforms are what is available in new set plus 2 more awnings not shown.

The other platforms with only part shown is a what if .. instead of the fences being non-track, I add them to the platforms. These will be the ones I will use for Gravel Platforms.

Like to try do this to all platform types. Each of the other platforms will have a different fence.

The normal platform will have 2 of these .. one with and one without the fence. The grass if want to use will be in a separate file with non-track sections.

Been reunited as Gravel, Gravel and Bitumen, Bitumen, Bitumen Improved, Tile Surface.

The work did today I made a file called AuzStationPlatforms .. my idea is for this set to replace AuzStations Part 1. AuzStationPlatforms has everything from Part 1 except the Normal Platforms and I've added some footbridges.

Would you like to try what I did today? First I suggest you remove "AuzStations Part 1" from your game folder and replace it with this one "AuzStationPlatforms".

Yes i meant this footbridges! They were in the set when it still had Parts up to number 8 if i remember correctly.

I think you uploaded the wrong GRF. I tried it and their are no footbridges and the normal platforms are still there.

Thanks to BW89 I starting to do some changes to my Station Sets. It something I been wanting to do for a long time and he given me some inspiration to work on them again.

I been meaning for some time to add fences to the platforms and just leave one normal platform and those with awnings to be used with non-track station pieces.

All the non-track fences I did before I hoping I can remove all of these from other sets and just have lawns and RV parking areas with out fences.

Also looking at a new way to display them single, island and single platform of each individual pieces.

The gravel Platforms will have some awnings with the wall. Need to do a red roof awning later today.

A few changes to the Gravel Platforms.

This image displays 4 platforms. Platform 1 is on the left, 2 and 3 Island Platforms and 4 far right.

I changed the end ramps to include the station signs.

On platform 1 the platform in front of signal box you can see where the signalling equipment wires come out from the signal box under the platform and along side the railway lines to the signals and interlocking.

I did some red awnings to go with some of the station buildings. But the one that should go on Platform 4 is a pixel to high so I need to adjust it.

When I get these Gravel Platforms how I want I will let you try.

Because of these new changes there will need at least 2 files for all the platforms. AuzNewStationPlatforms will have the Gravel Platforms and the AuzStationPlatforms will have the rest. I hoping to eventually fit all the county platforms in the AuzNewStationPlatforms and the city platforms be in a separate file. (I hope).

If you like to try the new Gravel Platforms here the file as well as a new file with the other platforms.

These 2 files replace AuzStations Part 1.

When I make new platforms for Gravel and Bitumen these will be transferred into AuzNewStationPlatforms.

The Gravel Platforms still some tweaking to do especially the platform sides as can be seen with the platform on right above. See the difference in image above. The ramp sections have been changed but haven't done the other platforms yet.

The tile surface platforms in based on Sydney Terminal. Wondering if leave these with the platform set or leave them out for now and add them to the Sydney Station I been working on.

A few minor graphic issues I found and hope to fix today.

Looking at old photos of railway stations and my past experience. The platforms that are half gravel and half bitumen. What images I can find they did not have a split platform surface under awnings and in front of buildings. So I have removed those awnings from the set. I combining the Gravel/Bitumen and the Bitumen into one set so you can have a mixture.

The platforms with the signalling equipment opening on the sides will make some more with awnings and/or make a few more signal boxes to go on the platforms.

Platform fences used to be paling fences. Like this photo of Cockle Creek near Newcastle.

Some stations had a green fence, some brown and also a cream or white. So I chose the brown so it stand out better than a green fence.

The station sign is different colour in photo too, so will change mine to match as best I can.

Sorry to say this but I changed the file names again .. and I hope these names are final.

Thought these new names be more appropriate.

AuzNewCountryPlatforms: For country and old style platforms. These have Gravel, Gravel and Bitumen and bitumen. It is basically finished and still has room for a few more if wanted.
Here a sample.

AuzNewCityPlatforms: Has the City style. Bitumen with the safety lines painted along edge and the Tile surface platforms. This set is operational but will have a lot of changes to be made so that platforms will have fences like the Country ones. If all goes well hope to complete them by end of the week.

These new sets replace AuzNewStationPlatforms and AuzNewStationPlatformsMore

EDIT 27 Jan 2020: The 2 updates here been replaced with the 2 Updates a few posts below. New updates has the Gravel/Bitumen and the Bitumen separated into their own categories. Also added so Old Lamps to the Gravel Platforms.

Just remember if want awnings with the Gravel and Bitumen you will find these in the Bitumen set as they don't gave the gravel.

Both sets are complete but I let you wait till the "Tile Surface Platforms" are done. Be at least 24 to 48 hours if all goes well to finish them.

If room I will add the modern footbridges to these sets as well so you will have a choice of footbridges with both bitumen platforms and the Tile Surface Platforms.

I finished improving the station platforms. There is room in both sets for extra platforms which I been looking at some ideas

One of the railway stations I worked at had bitumen in front of the signal box and waiting rooms and rest of platform surface was gravel. The platform Fascia was brick. So might do up old style country platform set with the brick Fascia. The station also had a electric train staff auto exchanger. The train did not have to slow down to exchange the token. At the station was a special hook and also one of the locomotive and these would exchange the staff while the train flew through my station at 100 km per hour. So seeing if I can make a exchanger for the game and animate it. When no train it be lowered and when a train approaches the staff exchanger would raise ready to exchange staff. At least I hope I can do this.

Another station I worked at had a concrete Fascia so hope to also make a platform set similar to that as well. So hope to make a set of platforms later with both those ideas.

AuzNewCountryPlatforms: Has Gravel, Gravel/Bitumen and Bitumen platforms. Also some footbridges for those platforms.

For the time being AuzStations Part2, 3 and 4 can still be used with those sets, but you will find a few platforms in these 3 sets that are same as in other sets and might be displayed under City Platforms 1 and City Platforms 2.

I'm working on updating AuzStations Part2, 3 and 4 and these will get different names as well.

I in process of making a separate file just for Railway Station Building.

Other items to sort are rest of the footbridges, non-track tiles that are not buildings, platforms with catenary poles and

the Sydney Railway Station at moment is a separate file with over 160 pieces and only done the SE and SW directions

Can see if you can build this jigsaw puzzle. It has 15 terminal platforms and 8 through platforms.

Hoping before end of the week will have new Auz Station Sets.

Several years ago when I first started making the Station sets, was told to put as many items in to the one file. Limited to 256 items per file (and thing we still are).

But made it difficult to add more items. Ended up with Stations in 3 different files, platforms, buffer stops, footbridges also in more than 1 file. So I plan to make extra files so more chance to keep same items together.

The following will be come obsolete: AuzStationsPart1, AuzStationsPart2, AuzStationsPart3, AuzStationsPart4, and AuzSubwayStations.

Replace all those 5 files with: AuzNewCountryPlatforms, AuzNewCityPlatforms, AuzRailwayStations (buildings only, track and non-track), AuzStationsFootbridges (also has buffer stops), AuzStationsNonTracks (will not have buildings), AuzStationsCatenary (had platforms with catenary poles and cross beams, also has Subway tiles (to hide stations and railway tracks to make them look like they are underground), and AuzStationsNormal (has all items associated with the old style normal platforms (platform on both sides of the track).

Hope I can up load those in coming days.

Remember these replace "AuzStationsPart1, AuzStationsPart2, AuzStationsPart3, AuzStationsPart4, and AuzSubwayStations." I suggest you remove those totally from your games folder to save confusion.

Every thing that was in those 5 sets are in these with a few extras and some improvements.
