OK, I've tried it out, but it doesn't happen here. Please attach or email your ttdpatch.cfg file.

Josef,

I have just tried out a39 (BTW, good work on the new features! :D), and have been having a major bug...

Attached is my savegame, as well as my patch config file. I can also send you my newgrf file if you need it, but I doubt it (I don't think this is a DB Set bug). I am using the Windows version of both TT, and TTPatch, and haven't had any patch-problems for ages :).

Also, before opening TT with any new patch version, I run mkpttxt, to make sure all is well, but this has not fixed the problem.

Firstly, I added all the switches that are new in this version to my patch config file, and then tried to play TT. The second that I open my game, I try to click on the train moving in the bottom right corner of the screen (to see if the wagonspeed limits are affecting my main freight engine much), and the game "hangs" (ie it freezes up).

I then quit the game using CTRL-ALT-DEL, and tried deactivating the new switches one by one, to see if any of them were causing the problem (ie I played the game using all the new switches except for one, which I would then re-activate and de-activate another), but to no avail, the same problem still happens.

Firstly, I will use a38 for now, as I have had no problems with that version.

Secondly, is there any more information you need from me?

Cheers mate, first problem in ages :].

P.S. No crashlogs, as the game doesn't crash, it just hangs...

P.P.S. If you need, I can e-mail you the version of the DB Set XL I am using.

Hmm, I don't have the dbsetxl 0.72 yet, so what I see is a Plastic Truck pulling a few goods vans, but that works fine... anyway, try alpha 39.1 and see if it helps (my guess is it won't, but please check).

Yes, I went back and tried it with 39.1, but to no avail.

No hurry, a38 still works fine for me, and the DB Set still works under a38 for now :)).

Cheers for the fast reply!

Yes, it works now. Sets creators, update your sets if you use prop 20 fro trains or 19 for RVs. I shall update my sets tomorrow.
updated

What sets are affected by this? All of them?

I think George is the only one using this feature.

I've the same problem with a39 and a39.1. The only difference is that I get an error and thus a crash log. When I'm at home I'll post it here.

the error occurs about 5 minutes in the game.
Yes I'll post the save-game too.

For now I use a38, this one seems to have no errors. :D

Everyone who had problems with alpha 39.1, please try the alpha 40 preview I've posted here. Let me know if the problems persist or if they're fixed.

Thanks Josef - trying the same thing that caused my hang before seems to have fixed itself up. Thanks so much mate .

Well, actually, my problem is solved, but there are now problems with wagon re-fitting :)). The only wagons that will refit to have a proper capacity are the ones with the word in brackets.

I can post some screenshots of this if you would like, but I am running a38 again until you need them. :)).

Cheers Josef :].

I'm not sure wether Josef is interested, but I think i have found a glitch in the new sprite sorter.

I'd have to have a closer look at the .grf file to see if it's a glitch in the sorter or the definition of the station. I suppose you could try turning off the new sorter and see what happens.

If possible, please attach a savegame before this happens. I just tried it and it worked fine...

I will try again ... I am sure it happened (DBXL here) ... but I will try again, I hope I've left some not changed trains

EDITED:
here is the savegame:
- built a depot after the station where they load (take a train 10 and 21)
- then sell engine, buy 1 engine BR 250 and second one with CTRL
- move second engine to second position in the train (move it with CTRL)
- buy 3 stake (default cargo: steel) wagons (to get train 7sq long)
- refit train to wood
- with 10 cargo disappear, with 21 is normal, however I tried refit 21 again to wood (while it was already whole wood) and everything disappeard to
