Some say it leaves signal failures in its wake. And that when it hits a deer on the track that it is being served up to passengers only 5 minutes later as the meal of the day..

Oh great. Now I've got pulled into it!
Saying that, I do tend to see the same FCC train pretty much every time I'm going to College, London or just the station in general.

Now that truly is scary... if it was a trainset containing a Class 153, then it would be time to run for the hills! :D

Some say that for an April Fools joke it came to a party dressed as itself, others that it is a parallel universe between Matlock and Nottingham.

All we know is that I went home on it yesterday :(

Some say it was over; nothing but the product of mass hysteria
Other's say it was quietly shoved to the back of a depot encased in a seal of rotting break-vans

All i know is, I saw it again the other day, gone midnight, at Sawley Level Crossing rattling towards Derby with all the seating lights off

Some say it was merely a ploy to make us think we were all safe

Others merely saw it as an opportunity to forget the fearful rattle and screeching noise of the thing travelling between Nottingham and Matlock all hours of the day

All i know is, that 153 311 is currently "unallocated" and in storage with no one company daring to risk their lives and livelihoods bringing it's presence into the world once more

It may soon be over everyone!

May the thing rot in storage never to return to service :o

Also, some fool even gave it a name: John Constable - not even being a named train can save it

Also, also, this post is thread post number 666

Apparently Network Rail have taken it on to join their fleet of measurement trains.

Oh dear lord - Do you mean that not only will it now be chugging along looking for victims late at night but painted in Yellow and with more technology to track prey too?

Now that's a very British horror film.

It was long before I got the job, and have no idea if we even still have the thing. Either way, I take no responsibility. Desicion was above my pay grade, so throw the rotten vegetables in another direction.

At least the toilets on 153's never used to flood all the time and make the whole train stink like they do on 150's though... Every Centro class 150 I ever rode on smelled like a mobile sewage works.

God I really HATE 150's

Ride a class 150 in the summer and the sewage smell will kill you. :x

Didn't someone once win a model of 153311?

Translated into the format of the thread

"Some say it was created out of wedlock, some say it was born of nothing but filth and despair, all I know is that it's chasing me through Wales at speed"

I really hope that happened, I wonder what happened to them, and any trainset it was used on ?(

I believe it was Brianetta who won the model.

Aaah, the good old days of meets! I was at the 2009 meet at NRM in York. I wouldn't appear again until 2012 in Crewe, then finally London in 2016, and non after that (yet). Hopefully when people are done coughing on each other, can start up the meets again. The 2009 one seems to have been the peak, many attendees for that one.

I think 2008 pips it for me (although I’m biased as I wasn’t at the NRM) - patchman turned up!

Brianetta was a nice human - it was a pleasure to be around such people with a shared interest. 2008 feels like a very very long time ago.

I really hope meets do start again, having been engaged in TTO/TTO+WE/TTD/TTDP/OTTD for the better part of 26 years now (feels stupidly old putting it that way), I really should engage the community more

And being between Notts and Derby, I have no real excuse - it's easy to travel in most directions without too much fuss

Fingers crossed for the future of meets :)

Let's just hope the next one is not on 153311 (although trying to persuade Network Rail to let us would be an interesting pursuit in of itself)

Same here. I now live in the East Coast Main Line at Wakefield Westgate so, no excuses for me to not turn up anywhere in the UK!

I would say if there is even the smallest chance of them allowing us to do that, we should try! Although personally I'd enjoy a meet on a Pacer, I'm already missing those things I spent half my younger life on.
