some ideas

Hi!
I drew some "ideas", perhaps for the chemical industry...
Of course they are still not converted to the correct palette (not even wellresized), but I tried to put the different parts of the buildings in different colors (tried to put a ttd-like light, too) so you can pick them with a "select color" tool from Gimp or photoshop.
I'll try to make some pipes or stuff like that if I've got time.
Everybody feel free to use the pics or modify them. (I've got the 3D file in Solid Edge format if you want).

Minor graphics element request.

Hi.
I have started the thread, and Dribbel is implementing new patch 'Clone vehicle'
See
http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?p=184566 .
Basically this is new button in the depot window that allow you to choose any vehicle running
across the game, and in one click build identical one.
So, after you click 'Clone train', cursor of mouse changes to allow you select vehicle.
Actually because of lack of proper (animated) icon we are using sheme you normally get after
clicking GoTo button of Vehice Orders (red X & Y and moving yellow arrow between them).
It would be great to have completely new icon for 'clone vehicle' feature.
This could be some three picture sequence of car divding into two, or so...
Thanks,
Jan

This is quite impressive. If someone adds some tiles with buildings here and does some recoloring/texturing (it's definitely needed), we might have the first industry done :-)
Who's got any thoughts on this one?

Nice you did a 3d model just for pre-rendering a sprite from it.

btw if ya need a wagon for trains to carry Chemicals you could ask MB if you could use his from cargo set.

Wow, that does look good - it has inspired me to try and make some graphics of my own....

hmm also if you need trucks from something like 1920 you could ask Raven for his First Generation trucks and permission to modify them.

Btw i think the fishery should be something like 6x6 or 4x4, 2x2 is kind of small space.

a dock, a small airport wooden type buidling and some nets, 2x2 would be enough

You know fish comes for sea...you would need atleast somekind of ....hmmm what was that word for things..something like docks in TTD for the ships next to dock in to bring the fish.

Fish can be transported by trucks, but the value would have to decrease very rapidly as time goes on.

As you know, all cargo in OTTD has parameters which describe the bonus for transported squares depending on its days in transit. Of course, this parameter will be chosen in such a way, that fish will need to be transported very quickly. It won't matter whether it's a truck, a train or an airplane :-) (or a ship)

Unfortunatly, Mr3d's 3d renders won't go into the pallete at all, and the pictures were smudged at the 8x zoom, so I had to do some medial editing and got it looking good.
Also I made my own tank for chemicals, both of them can go in the saem industry.
I strongly believe the explosives go in the Armoured van, so won't require new graphics.

Tried to resize the tank as well as to use the ttd-palette colors. (I miss the 32bits...

OK, the tank looks great (I changed the orange to a blue-grey). As far as I'm concerned, it's in. We need more! :-)

I like the CHEMICALSTANK1.PNG picture a lot, it might go into the other chemical industry (we need two, and the more they differ, the better).

I think that all new cargo should get different graphics for vehicles. Past experiences have shown that people have great difficulty with associating the "grain hopper" with "maize", let alone remembering which van is for valuables and which one for explosives. I believe someone ought to take the armored van and attach markings, to distinguish it from other vehicles. But that's the minimal plan, it would be great to see totally new graphics.

I made a change to the gradient in the tank, because it looked a bit too "sharp" (you see the lines between the color changes). So, here is the result. I think this version is more "rounded" and more ttd-like. (I also replaced the oil-tanks from the original oil refinery to see how the colors match. I think, the white from the Xs still "stands out" a bit. The X could be painted with some "strong" color to detect the building easily -the oil refinery has got some green or rosa; the factories blue roofs...) Feel free to modify them as you wish.

This looks very,
very good. I would leave the white as it is, it looks fine. I'm hoping to see more from you :D
