Not really. But there do seem to be ups and downs. ATM loading times are not huge, but still a few seconds per page, and a few seconds more to load avatars

'
That's the best way to describe it with the odd additional extra long wait.

Posting that the site is fast/slow/fast/slow doesn't really help. I know it's not great just now. It probably will slow down at times, and then speed up again. I'm looking into the situation.

Generally I am happy with the speeds. I will leave it at that.

Generally I don't care too much as long as I can read some stuff...

At least I'm happy that the pages can load. I have slow Internet anyway.

Look for the silver lining ... Lot's of time for a run down to Tim Horton's for coffee and a doughnut.

Depends on where you live, really. For me "running" to the nearest Tim Horton's would even by plane cost me the better part of a day

Their doughnuts are very good though. Or at least four years ago since I last checked.
EDIT: while typing I honestly thought this was the "Thread of Randomness" (pronounced as by Nixon's Head in Futurama)...

The forums seem to be fixed now but at one point that would have been reasonable.

At my end the forums are even lightning fast now.

Owen: Stop what you're doing! NOW!
Don't fix it if it isn't broken!

Well for the first time since the weekend I can read the forums without waiting forever for pages to load. Methinks it was a bit buggered!

The bottom link won't work for me. For some reason, it was the one I had bookmarked so I kept getting the following message:
The Transport Tycoon Forums
The Transport Tycoon Forums are currently down for maintenance. Don't worry, everything's OK, but it may be a little while before they're back up again. I'll try to be as quick as I can.

Only now did I find that the forums are actually back online...

Your browser probably cached the redirect. Emptying your cache should fix it.

It's slowing down again on my side, Owen. Restarting my browser made no change and I think it noticed it 1 hour ago but I thought it was the huge PDF I opened in a different tab.

Yes, it was a bit slow last night. The forums do seem to be quite a bit busier in terms of the amount of traffic (perhaps due to TT 2013, or maybe the spammers are just being busier!), so that's probably part of the problem.

Check the members list. There are over 1000 new "members" signed within the last 10 days, less than 10 of them actually posted something.
I got tired of looking after 30 or something pages of the list...
BTW, all seems to work fine at my place.

But they´re all advertising something!
Although, some seem to be wrong here:
Occupation: How to attract a man
Interests: How to attract a guy
Website: [...]

Perhaps the spambots should read
Three Laws of Robotics.

I'm a noob at this but... is it possible to make registration a bit more "difficult"?
I.e. You can register but you need to make X posts within Y days or your account gets deleted. 99,9% of signed in that fall into these category are spambots or advertisers.
