Re: [OTTD] Emperor Jake's Epic Screenshots and Videos!
Thanks!
Now for some more screenshots of Trainforest.
While we've been gone, the company has adopted a new variation on its red/yellow livery. The red has become darker, and the yellow is slightly yellower (achieved with my NewCC set).
Here is the freight junction near Lenwich. It is quite congested because it must handle iron ore traffic from Accpool, the steel traffic, lumber traffic and many other freight trains. It is planned that these freight lines will be electrified soon, enabling use of more powerful locomotives such as the Class 92. Accpool is now the third largest city on the map after Desert City and Tetchester Falls. Its station is becoming very congested; you can see the Acela waiting to enter the station. Plans are being drawn up for a complete reconstruction of the station, which will involve removal of many buildings. The Malpool Port may also have to be extensively remodelled or moved, because it is in such an inconvenient and cramped location. Prendnor is one of the cities on the original Trainforest line. It is home to an aluminium plant, which has had its station recently electrified. Some Class 92s have been purchased to work the aluminium trains to Senport Foundry.

The main line to Desert City. It is quad-tracked, with fast fuel-cell trains operating long distance Intercity trains on the fast outer tracks, and heavy sand and stone trains on the inner tracks, bringing stone from a distant quarry in the desert.
At this station, the old mainline comes out the front, and the new electrified line to Grindean comes out the back. The new electrified line connecting Desert City with Grindean. Two intercity trains of Trainforest's SouthEast sector can be seen, also some trucks and an aircraft.
The main station at Desert City, the largest city on the map. It has sprawled far into the desert with few natural objects to prevent it. In fact, the biggest obstacle to Desert City's growth is the impenetrable barrier known as the "edge of the map". The citizens of Desert City have called for a better public transport system than the meagre bus service they have to put up with. It is being considered whether to build a tram network or a true metro system.

The city of Grindean, another large desert city. The container terminal next to the passenger station is for distributing food and farm supplies.
Thanks to VAST Objects and Fences, this rural area looks nice and the country roads aren't lined with houses and skyscrapers.
A local EMU pulls out of the new station at Little Laketon, while an E60CP with a mail train overtakes it on "the Racetrack" as it came to be called by the locals after the Talgo vs Superliner race publicity stunt.

Nice desert shots. I especially like how you fenced off the farm.

Secret military research going on below that farmhouse in the middle?

Some more:
The new station and port at Accpool/Malpool. Two more platforms have been added and the approach rebuilt to be more efficient. The expanded freight station at Senport. An overpass separates the east platforms from the west platforms, enabling much better throughput. The steel line from Bradley's Green steelworks has recently been electrified. Here is a new powerful Class 20E with a steel train.

Here is Ainslie Lagoon, a suburb of Great Laketon. Its harbour is the northwest end of the complex canal that crosses half the map.
Here is a forest that was once served by a rail line. Trucks have overtaken the wood hauling duties, and the redundant track is used as a place to store old locomotives. Suburbs have grown to surround the line.
The canal passes through the centre of Oscar's Bridge, a large city on the west end of the map.

Re: [OTTD] Emperor Jake's Epic Screenshots and Videos!
New Frardingport Refinery, the smaller of the two serviced refineries on the map. At the platform you can see a Class 92 leading two diesel locomotives, this is because almost all of that train's route is under wires. It is anticipated that this station will be electrified soon.
The expanded transfer station near Malbion Park/Chatswood. It is used to distribute fuel oil and engineering supplies, and you may remember the electric freight line that goes directly to the centre of Lenwich.
The canal passes through St. Xavier's Bend. Here the canal connects with a side canal which is connected to the small harbour at Badingsay. There is lots of passenger ferry traffic in this densely populated area, and many freighters pass through.

Re: [OTTD] Emperor Jake's Epic Screenshots and Videos!
I'm back with some more screenshots! Just in time before this thread slipped off the page too!
These are from a Chill's Patchpack game with the 2CC set and ECS, and some other things. This is actually an old game I played a few months ago, but it looked pretty good when I dug through my old Chill's Patchpack saves with the new build. The game year is 1978, and the game started in 1930, with a daylength factor of 5 or so (IIRC)
Tretford, the busiest station on the map, with frequent high speed services. A vehicle factory is nearby, supplying all the towns and mines with vehicles. Slinningstone, another major hub. It is part of a large conurbation that has a well-developed metro system. The metro was one of the first things I built in the 1930s. The 4 track main freight line passes over the station (almost) Londtown, only recently electrified, is now also home to high speed services. An oil train is loading nearby.

Re: [OTTD] Emperor Jake's Epic Screenshots and Videos!
Minnford, a city now served only by the metro. It used to have a full rail station with a line connecting it to Tretford, but improvement of the metro meant this link became redundant and was closed. The metro transfers passengers to other major rail interchanges.
Wadingstone, a large town served by local trains. The network's main depot is next to the station, which houses some historic locomotives including an S 3/6, an A4 Pacific and a V200.
Fedborough Bay, the southeastern terminus of the network. Being in the desert, it is nowhere near a bay. The bay may be off the edge of the map, which is just offscreen.

Re: [OTTD] Emperor Jake's Epic Screenshots and Videos!
The network's main source of coal. Most of it is hauled to the steelworks by GG1s displaced from passenger services by Class 103 locomotives.
The Benfingford Brewery, the main source of food for the desert towns. Can you spot the metro train in this image?
A complex section of lines near Londtown. An intercity powered by a 103 speeds past while various freight trains trundle around. The iron ore mine has a disused platform, the trains have been replaced by ships on a canal because it was too crowded for more train lines.

Could you list where you got all of the NewGRF's for the first save?

Here is the (WIP) entry to this months screenshot competition. This is the enlarged version, and I have not completely finished it yet. And this one is staged, unlike my previous entry

Looks good! I think the bus on the far end of the bridge should be moved somewhere, it's buggy a bit now...
