That would be #4 (flat concrete) redrawn [see page 1].
Oy, I missed that, I'm sorry. Would it be acceptable to recolour it? Most of the ones I see around here are green, grey, or rusty. Never bright red.

That red flat concrete was never meant to be the final outcome ... I just used the 'original' bridge to practise pillar coding. By all means redo it, just be aware this bridge must allow for any length, but it would be very suited to be a pony plate girder bridge.

Okee, two questions: can you send me the sprites you made, as I'm interested in these bridgeheads, and why must it be suitable for any length? The lack of superstructure would make it a poor choice for an unlimited speed, unlimited length bridge. Granted, my absence during the planning stage of this set may make my opinion void...

Will do ... This bridge will be one of a very few (if not the only one), that can be built with a length of 0 and 1 tile (bridge heads are not counted). Most bridges will have a minimum length of 2 tiles. It has been suggested, that there should be at least one bridge with an excessive speed limit (for the maglev freaks) and being able to be built as a 1 tile bridge.

In general, most bridges will have lengths of 2,3,4,5,6,7. Once 7 is a possibility, so is 255 and anything in between. We can restrict them to say 20 or 30 though, but its mainly up to the players how long they want them. Any length in between the min and max lengths cannot be excluded. It's all about how the bridges are designed that determines its various length options. At least 1 bridge (Hells Gate) will be exactly 5 long.

Here we go. A mock-up of the pony plate. The question is, can the bridge deck (not the bridgeheads) be made narrower? That would give it a more desirable appearence.

Looks good ... yes, you can make it narrower, although the road ones may need the room as vehicles drive on their respective road side. If you so desire, the bridge heads can be narrower too. The various rail tracks can have different width too; e.g. narrow gauge could be narrower than rail.

It's just a mock-up, but the greenish sides stick into the northern bridgehead. In case you want that, then they must not cover any vehicles as the bridgehead is one piece, although the wall could be attached to BT0 and BT1. The southern bridgehead does not have such option though.

Hi
The Pony plate looks amazing :D !!!!!!
Yeah for a rail bridge the deck will definately look better.
To the DEVELOPERS: Is it possible to have 2 different sprites for the same bridge(1 for road vehicles & 1 for trains)?

Which sprites are yours? And where can they be found?

i made several test bridge sprites including the truss bridge shown on the first page of this thread, the ones that say the pillars are not on the other side when i do believe they are cause i still use that set to this day. i did several setups but never really did a lot with them other than testing. a few ppl have my grf file. most gfx are here http://ns37.gotdns.com/ttdx/ .

I want these bridges BAD!!!!

Can we get rid of the railway suspension bridge? That's an impossible concept altogether.

Here be the preliminary culvert. Is this what you had in mind, Wally?

I must confess that this is merely the same surface used on the default TTD dock.

Creek water should be able to pass, either in the centre or at the edges of each span; but no vehicles or pedestrians.

Hmm... to me a culvert is a really short "bridge". So, I would limit it to BL0 and BL1. If I needed anything more, I'd build a real bridge.

Well, several culverts in a row is often seen, especially in a causeway.
