Now we look at some trains!

Concerning the route map:
- It's great! Very sexy.
- Unfortunately Routes 10 and 11 now need to be added!
- Data on the trains are in my first post for 1980.
- Train 0107L has been replaced by a mail train, 0102M.
EDIT: Save is in the main thread.

Nice shots again.
The map has been updated accordingly.

Well I've been sorting out some stuff that have been "annoying me" mainly removing top and tailed freight trains and making them longer. Also I have done some "small changes" to Raichase and Moskau.
Basically, Moskau and Raichase City Stations have been combined to make Raichase City Interchange. This got rid of some ugly and space consuming track work. This is the scene after all had been completed. Bit of a change eh?
The sites of Raichase City Station and Moskau Station can be seen with new roads laid for residential development.

A bit late on the screenshottery, sorry.
Nothing really happened on my share (BEFORE Ameecher) other than some self-absorbedness and an economic recession, so not much screenies.

Some more screenies.

Look at the above screenshot and then this following lot. The 3 platforms at Pikka City were not able to cope adequately with the large number of trains using the station so a small rebuild was required.
1) The new Pikka City station, 2 up platforms, 2 down and a through line in each direction. Grain trains use the through lines as do trains that miss out Pikka City. Some container trains also use these tracks and all empty container trains use these lines.
2) The southern sidings. Trains that have travel on the 'Up' Lines from Fundworth and Narningville use these to reserve and return.
3) The northern sidings. 'Down' Trains use these sidings to return to Raichase/Moskau. They are also used by grain trains accessing Pikka Brewery.

Well, I played this a bit and changed nothing, just watching what went on before I actually started playing.
1.) Our engineer and mathematicians re-evaluated the junction at Pikka City shortly after it jammed up and came to a conclusion: This small but significant change should help prevent jams in the future. So far, they've been right.
2.) The mainline got backed up here several times, so a quick and dirty solution was implemented: Make the exit track longer. That done, things flowed more smoothly for a while. Soon, we'll have to see whether we really need that many trains on that route.
3.) We've selected a station site for our new coal drop! As you can see, progress has already begun, and we hope to have it ready within two years.

More. I get the feeling that now that I'm remembering to screen, this may well be a heavily screened two decades, at least compared to what I actually do.
1.) Construction begins in earnest, starting with some destruction of the landscape. It's unfortunate, but we need the new power station connection.
2.) Due to construction equipment moving along the lines and the schedule interruptions that causes, the signalling in this junction broke down, and you can see the obvious results. Quite an embarrassment for the company, there were thankfully no lives lost, as the passenger train was empty.
3.) To prevent that from ever happening again, the junction was improved.

More.
1.) A new junction is finally completed. This made some of our civil engineers quite happy to work on and ends up being a rather elegant solution to a thoroughly messy problem.
2.) The new power station is ready for operation!
Anybody know where the station that was used for the other power station is in the lists?

Seems a bid complicated and deadly...but impressive none the less. Just don't be offended if I opt out of being a passenger just yet.

Hah! I won't, don't worry. The problem is, I'm inheriting unintended design flaws from several other players, so I can never quite be sure what I'm breaking at any given point.

Most of those design flows will likely be mine! I completely annihilated the Pikka City/Raichase City area by destroying the old stations and make new ones. I ignored most of the bottom of the map though. I think the only other thing I did was improve the power station because all the stock was ancient and all the mines were massively underserved.

Your decade, your game. Any of us could just see how much 60 million will actually blow up if we wanted to, though that sort of ruins the spirit of the game.

1. Land is cleared for a new airport out of Fundworth (later to be renamed Fireflyght City in honor of the company). The residents of the city were unhappy to lose the beautiful wooded area near their city, but they are content that their transportation options are about to grow.
2. The airport is finally finished, after several construction delays. We're still wondering who payed for the white airplane sitting on the tarmac, though.
3. (Out of order, belongs at the end): The world map, near the end of my decade.

The advent of maglev rail caught our company by surprise, but the board of directors quickly seized on the ripe opportunity.
1. The Pikka City Express maglev system, fully operational. This was the proving system that the city required before they allowed us to expand and create a real maglev service.
2. "Andre's Gap", as it is called, was named for the engineer that discovered the softer soil there which allowed us to cheaply blast and excavate this flat stretch through the hills. This was an important part of the expansion of the maglev system out of Pikka City.
3. Along the sparkling south shores of Lake DanMack runs the most picturesque stretch of rail the company owns. The patrons enjoy their brief glimpse of the lake as they whiz by at 250 miles per hour.

1. The Fundworth PCE station was completed only a few months after the PCE passed the city's tests at the proving ground. Soon, trains will run between the two cities at high speeds, enabling workers from Fundworth to cut their commute times in half.
2. The PCE train from Fundworth races through Andre's Gap before decelerating into Pikka City.
3. Pikka City North was under heavy load due to the high volume of commuters and passengers coming from other cities to try out the new maglev system. A second platform was added and the schedules changed to cover this station better.
