Ben_K wrote:Thanks Addiction. Yeah, the cantilever is nice. With them being shorter, they seem to fit in a lot better. I found the standards ones a bit too imposing.

Yeah, they're just way too ugly =|

How'd you make that function like a normal station? o.o It looks like a tunnel-station type thing, like Kings Cross Thameslink.. I'm rather a 'newb' so to say with grfs. =|

1. Fort Madinghead recieved some upgrades due to the new main line from Kendhill to Fledingtown crossing the current Fort Madinghead to Brutfingford main line. As part of the Fort Madinghead 5yr transport infrastructure plan, a higher capacity main line intersection was built along with depot facilities near by and station renovations.

2. The Kendhill express is crossing the small steel bridge on the main line between Fort Madinghead and Fledingtown. On the right you can see one of the Westland Whirlwind helicopters of our valubles fleet that operates between Sludborough to Sadingbury banks.

3. The relatively new Fledingtown station. Due to one of our board members not seeing eye-to-eye with the Mayor of Fledingtown, its not likely to be upgraded for a good few years yet. Fortunately the demand is not high enough to cause too many problems. There are 2 services to Fort Madinghead, 2 express services all the way to Kendhill and a new service to Fort Slardtown.
For those who are curious to know why the board member had a falling out with the mayor, basically, he decided to get involved in town planning issues. He was part of a consultation team who have been designing and constructing a new road layout across the surrounding countryside in order to develop growth of the town. The mayor is a keen environmentalist and naturally took a great dislike to our board member for "destroying the local countryside and depreciating the local environment" (quote taken from a newspaper interview). Still, from our point of view it should lead to an increase in ticket sales.... we hope!

4. Upon the hill to the south that overlooks Fledingtown is the small historic town of Fort Slardtown. A small EMU service runs from Fledingtown and a second service joins Ford Slardtown to Frontfingpool.

- Fort Slardtown.png (395.54 KiB) Viewed 3819 times
Frontfingpool stations is currently still being constructed and due to planning permission problems, the station is somewhat messy and the company would rather not publicly release pictures of it in the current state.
5. The Frontfingpool line continues all the way to Pledinghattan where the station has been upgraded due to the increase in passenger traffic. The stations platforms have been replaced with a state of the art concrete all-weather surface and the main building has been torn down and replaced with a modern alternative.

6. As you know, Plendinghattan is the final destination for food goods from Wardhill Food Processing. With the great increase in passenger numbers through the station and with the watchful eye of the HSE (Health and Safety Executive) looming over us, we decide its a better option to build a goods yard seperate to the passenger areas. Despite the outlay, it will benefit the company in the future as it enables us to run higher capacity services to and from Pledinghattan.

You have seen the refinery facility near Overdingbury. Its located South-West of the town the other side of a small range of hills. Here are 2 shots of the drills that supplied these facilities:
Overdingbury South
Now disused. Sadly the reserves ran out around 1970. Fortunately the main oil lines connects both South and North drilling facilities so the locomotives were easily moved to service the still open North facility.

Overdingbury North
Now running the locomotives from the South facility, its a substantial oil hub. The locomotives are smaller but run a more frequent service. There is also a large quantity of oil brought here from offshore rigs. The oil is off loaded here and then transported to the refinery.
You can also see 2 of the disused EE-1 electric locos holding the old tanker wagons. During the renovation of this facility and addition of the Souther Fleet, the wagons were mostly upgraded to TTA tanker wagons.
