CNG...
RABA truck manufacture built the engines of Ikarus bus. They have CNG engine too... i wish someday lowfloor Ikaruses with air condition and CNG engine will run in Europe, Asia, America, Africa, Australia etc.
like even in opposite driving ones for England, Japan, India, Thailand, and those African places which drive that way...

We used Ikarus in Greece a long time ago. (Probably 1982 refers to day of purchase, not of photo. Because then color was a little different, similar to blue Russian ones. Later they repainted them.)

The specific bus, was built in 1978. This livery was introduced in the 90s. We had 1047 Ikarus buses, bought between 1978-1984. We had a 280 demo in 1978 for six months, and one in mid 80s, but this one never got out in the streets! The last Ikarus were used up to 30-9-04...
The original livery was this.

Please do not use that service again. Who is going to wait for 90 seconds to download a simple photo?
At least put all photos in a single archive.

Why not? He's furthering the thread in the right way.
Not like he dug it up to say "lol nice buses!"

Back to the subject, recently I saw in Rosemont (Suburb of Chicago), a rare Pace Ikarus 413 (I think) in serivce.
On Pace, only a few of those are in service, and when they are, it is not that often.
Anyway, as I did not have my camera, here is a picture from Busexplorer:

Ikarus 280 swimming in the water of the flooding streets
Edit: This was take in Bucharest, Romania

.... Nope, that is in Chisinau , Republic of Moldavia (all license plates are C - Chisinau..and Moldavian plate)
The funny part, is that the advertisement on the bus is about some life-insurance, the big letters say: ,,For the security of your life,, ... and that on a nearly floating bus
