Yes, that's exactly what I thought I'm expected to do. Thank you.

Hi guys, sorry for not posting much lately but my PC has been having some problems (windows won't boot).
I just read
this thread on cgtalk and I think it applies to our renders.
I have done some experiments on my
slow backup pc and I think the best setting to use is the 'key' setting.

Cough..... hence i have all the standardised files set to Key rendering by default. so yes you are 100% right
Key= RGB value of the object/ pixel edge
Premul = RGB value multiplied with Black in a percentage equal to the alpha channel
Sky = RGB value mixed with the sky value before alpha channel is applied.
for anyone who is reading this thread.
we perhaps need a wiki page listing all these settings that I might take for granted. (or other experienced people like Dmh_mac....)

Ah I didn't notice, I just remembered having problems with it in the past when I read the thread. I didn't know they were solved.

As promised a while back here are my blendfiles for most of the stuff I've shown in this thread. I've managed to scrape em from my broken pc.
These are in no way ready for final use, most of them probably have wrong old light settings, etc..
Feel free to play around with them and ask me questions about why and how I've done certain things certain ways (or point out my errors

).
claimer:
Unless stated otherwise by me, these files and derivative works are for openTTD use only and you are not allowed to sell or make money from them or derivative works. If you want to use them for something other than openTTD contact me and maybe, just maybe we can work something out
Oh, and I can change these rules at any time by sheer will power.

Hello again!
I made a new building again, today it's an office block with two skyscrapers (inspired by Taipei 101, world's tallest building) and a little part below them. Its dimension is 3x3.
God bless dmh_mac, because I was now able to do things much faster with using parts of his buildings. The fountain and tree may now looks familiar for you thanks to him releasing his blend files.
Althrought his trees are very good, I originally wanted to use trees from Alltaken (im not sure they're from him, there were 30 trees with 5megs+ blend files). So, when there are standartized trees, i will re-render it with them in use.
I hope you like it.

Wow this looks very good! Personally I like the reflections in the windows of the right building. Maybe the roof texture of the right building could be a little bit better. The pike is great. The area around the buildings looks amazing. Very detailed!
I do not know why, but the bridge between the two buildings somehow looks weird to me. It seems that the perspective is not completely right. But maybe I am just wrong.

Thats because of the shadow, which makes it weird, but as it is made in 3D, the perspective can't be wrong and if I made render from the other side, it would be good IMHO. But thanks anyway.

Love it! I really like the parasols on the roof of the lower 'scraper. I also feel the flying bridge doesnt quite work. For me, its the architectural style - it doesnt fit the buildings. Personally I would prefer to see them separate but still stay as a 3x3 dual structure.

I think with the bridge it's 'cos it seems to be sitting behind the two buildings, rather than going between them from the corner of the square one to the side of the round one. But then maybe that's how it's supposed to be.
Looks great!

The bridge between the buildings would be better if you added windows too it!

(Please dont flame me if i said something wrong)

Hey dmh_mac! I planned to do the same thing as you did, to make more buildings which would fit on each other by adjacent sides, very nice i really like it (a good to see you back)
