How are you supposed to get the log, is it a switch, is it done automatically?

It's automaticaly, when you get a crash , there will be a crashlogfile in your folder

Ah that's easy.

I am looking forward to help supporting this patch very much then. :D
I don't know if crash reports from multiplayer games will be much of a help though, because I generally have to try and reproduce the crash on my computer, and catch it redhanded, so to speak. But feel free to try anyway :)

I'd appreciate if you could do the crash testing with the american language version (gamegfx.exe size 1,695,744 bytes; remember to delete ttdloadw.ovl), because that's what all my notes are on, as well as the IDA disassembly database. It would help a lot if I didn't have to dig through an unfamiliar version to find crashes.

TTD V0019E000 Crash Log by TTDPatch 1.9.1 alpha 34 (Windows)

Exception C0000005 at 0167:6BD011F8
That's a crash in the dxmci.dll file, which makes TTD use DirectMusic instead of MCI.

Did this work before? Are you getting any error messages when TTD loads?

It's crashing when DirectMusic is shutting down, actually, so there must be some problem in the initialization, which normally should show up as an error message...

You'll be able to get rid of this problem by deleting dxmci.dll, but then you'll go back to the old-style music, with all the pauses between songs.

Well, that's not such a big problem, you can play the music with winamp and still enjoy the game without pauses

Lol, yeah just download the midis and you can even play ttd music

I noticed something odd with new ttdpatch (34) ....
my train list (list of trains to buy in depot) is ... shuffle ... some of my trains ... like ICE is fifth ... TGV is sixth .... Jubille is ten, Kirby is first ...
I played last time with all engines ... then I play with arctic set ... (only at arctic map) after that I turn again tempset but after loading temerate map some of my trains disaapear from list so I must use 'Allengines' ... ....
now every time I loading it trains are misplaced ... ReloadEngines and AllEngines don't help to sort it

changing your newgrf.txt file can ruin your game - it happened to me, it permanently erased all the temperate set locos even though i had temperate set turned on. All the ICE's turned into some crappy random x-treme locos.

I'd say thats your problem.

mine are only misplaced in train buy-list

Hm, that's odd. We just played a multiplayer game, the game crashed (well mine just closes while the other one freezes) but no one of us received a crashlog as it seems. The only new file as it seems is files.tmp which is empty. Do I have to look somewhere else? What's the name of the logfile anyway?

I think it is like this:
games sometimes crash (which mean it is fault of TTD/TTDPatch)
and sometimes freezze (which mean it is fault of savegame)

Hm, just wait for the patchman

I have the same problem as Shadow, both in Win and DOS.

Does anybody else noticed this thing, but i think that with alpha 34 game gets slower and slower every time when I buy more vehicles. The game almost stops when I open any vehicle list.

by Arathorn
Haven't had that problem. maybe your morevehicle switch is set too high?

Yep, that's right!!
It's quite irritating: it only occurs when loading a game, if you start a new game they're right placed, I think.

My morevehicles is set by 10.
What would you suggest?
