Cool! I like it. May be to add some appearing and disappearing people?

Here's the alternate (F-7) C&NW livery. Both the standard and alternate should be available at the same time. The alternate should phase out well before the standard one does, though, because there's simply not that many photos of it--which to me means it was eventually replaced altogether by the standard C&NW scheme. Perhaps phase it out in the mid to late 60s?

I was looking at a real life photo of the Little Joe, then i looked the one in the set. There were a few diffrences.
it ran with only 1 panto up, not two.

see http://www.northeast.railfan.net/images/css801.jpg , http://www.northeast.railfan.net/images/css802.jpg , http://www.northeast.railfan.net/images/tr_mlwE74.jpg & http://www.northeast.railfan.net/images/tr_milwE21.jpg .

The Little Joe really looks like it needs to be tweaked.
It also needs additonal liveries, like the Milwaukee Road for Arctic.

I agree on that, but can the Milwaukee Road livery be done well with the funky orange colors of the TTD palette? Changing the look to reddish simply won't work like it did with Metra, since MWR definitely has an orange color.

If somebody wants to make a pantos-down variant, or experiment with a different livery, by all means do so.

I think that is definitely too red.

I think it looks quite stunning, the red contrasts against the black quite well.

Nice job :D.

but imo doesn't look anything like Milwaukee Road, the EF-3 had nice selection of orange that looked quite Milwaukee Roadish.

dodo - your palette is wrong.

Anyhoo - I think you will have much more success with this combination ;)

The lighter orange works well, I like Uzurpator's combination. Below are a couple of my Joe gifs in the schemes you guys are trying.

IMPORTANT NOTE: due to the fact that i have no idea how to fix it, the road grfs must be listed in the newgrf text file in order jcroads_a and jcroads_b, otherwise they will replace the wrong sprites in some climates.

these files are for testing purposes only and i hold no responsibility for them other than i drew the roads and some misc pieces.
I tested the roads in the tropics. I verified that a and b were in the proper order.
We get snow on the sidewalks.! Good way to keep 'em cool in that hot noon day sun.
The png is posted in the New Industries thread per a differnt issue. Let me know if you want me to repost it here too.
