Oracle, a few bugs. Comments welcome from others.
1. The running costs of the GE44T must be reduced, it is not possible for it to make a profit. Pulling one car, continuous service, reasonable distance, should be profitable, and it's not.
2. Something very bizarre is happening with the wagon-speed-limits, the tank cars, and the F7. I have trains of tripe F7 lashups pulling old-style tankers refitted to carry rubber. These tankers have a nominal speed limit of 60mph, however, they don't appear to have any speed limit behind the F7, full or empty. When the F7s are replaced by PAs, the proper speed limit appears. The ordinary rubber transporter also has its proper speed limit.

Ok, here's an "early" variant of Metra livery, though it is technically called RTA (Regional Transport Authority). I'm not entirely sure on the history of the RTA, or if that's what Metra was called before it was Metra--all I know is I saw this livery when I was a young lad. I would think this livery could appear in 1980 and last through till about 1995, at the latest. By that point, all the F-40s had been converted to the regular Metra paint scheme. This livery should co-exist with some of the C&NW stuff (that is to say, an F-40 with this livery should, on a random chance, still be able to pull C&NW bi-levels, until around 1988). C&NW stuff was around for quite some time after the actual take-over, but for all intents and purposes, the C&NW cars should be mostly repainted by no later than 1990. Beyond 1990, it should also not be possible to run a Metra engine with anything but bi-levels, if you want to keep it accurate (though I don't know if this is possible).
Doing the diagonals on this thing was a terrible torment

Thrakki, for such a bland and ugly scheme as the RTA livery (brown, pale blue and red... ugh), it looks great! Beautiful looking loco, too bad the original looks so bad
Any chance of matching E's too?

Hmm, I might do an E8 version too, but the RTA livery for that should only be available till 1988 or so? After that point, E8s should appear in regular Metra livery. . .I think. 1985 is when Metra officially became a reality, for reference. Would it be worth doing the RTA livery for the E8 if it is only available for 7 or 8 years? If I didn't do the RTA livery, E8s should just appear in C&NW livery until 1985. If I DID do the RTA livery, then both C&NW and RTA should be possible schemes at the same time (with the C&NW E8 disappearing after 1985).
On a not-entirely-unrelated note, given that C&NW had passenger service in Chicago for quite a long time, I would think an F7 done in C&NW livery would be a good thing to include. Could you send me the sprites for the up-to-date F7 krtaylor?

Don't you mean

&
http://www.tt-forums.net/files/lehighvalley-f7_144.png , cause those look more up to date than those.. DanMacK posted these at http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php? ... start=3900
Wich reminds me, http://www.as-st.com/ttd/usa/trains.html refers Lehigh Valley livery as undrawn, but i clearly see that they are drawn..and it refers many others as undrawn too when the sprites are attached on the same page or are already in the set.

I missed the Lehigh Valley F7s. But what else is already drawn or in the set, that I show as undrawn? There are a number of steamers that we already have, but we want slightly different liveries / variants for them in the different environments. And of course, all steamers need animated versions eventually. But if I've missed some, please point them out so I can fix the list.

Um, so should I be using the sprites krtaylor posted or the ones Akalamanaia did? Which are the most up-to-date? Don't want to waste time working on older sprite versions which aren't used in the set anymore.

I'm pretty confident that the ones I posted are the ones in the set currently.

Well, I have these, but I don't think they made it into the set. At least I know the blue SF freight ones didn't. Or anyway, I've never seen them.
Speaking of things that didn't make the set but should have, has anyone ever seen an REA car? I don't know how they'd be triggered anyway. maybe they're there but I just haven't done the right thing to get them.

Oracle said those sprites were done too late for him to get them into the curent release, they're scheduled for next release.
Re: the REA Cars, look below, I don't have a problem getting them
If you don't put a pasenger or mail car after reefers, you won't get them. The REA cars only show up in passenger trains, which is as it should be
Re: the C&NW F7's - sounds like a good plan to me, maybe I should get to work on the other liveries I suggested as well (MILW, NP, etc)
Been trying to concentrate on the Canadian Set adn Finnish Set for the last little bit though, trying to get more stuff done for that. I've still got like tons of wagons and 3-4 locomotives to draw for the FTS... Pls the AusSet, I'm keeping myself busy... lol

So the ones that should be there, are the ones with the blue freight livery also?
I like the F7s that are already in the set, just as they are. Though for sure more liveries is nice.

Yes, the blue scheme is designed for freight, the Warbonnet for passenger, the UP is a variant, that gives us 3 different liveries in Tropis, the LV (and possibly NYC or PRR) in Temperate, and MILW, NP and maybe C&NW in Arctic, works for me...

Hmmm... The forum isn't letting me post my screenie, so I'm going to try this one more time.....
What I had tried to post was an update on the MCS. Mostly worked on the platforms, by adding some fencing, and introducing platform termini, with buffers. I extended the parking lot out a bit towards the concourse, and replaced the grass between the platforms and the lot with gravel. Also made the lot and sidewalks in the US roadset style, assuming that this will be the preferred set. After, of course, the RR crossings are redrawn for the US roads.
The included screenie is a HUGE station example, but I wanted to fit all of the new elements in, and it provides an overall flavor of what the MCS could look like. I suspect the nobody would actually build a station this size in their game, but, hey, to each their own. Comments and feedback greatly appreciated.
Cheers!

Oz, normally I would be telling you how good that looks, but the forum obviously doesn't like your screenie (jealousy perhaps?). From your description though, it sounds good, and I can't wait to start building unnessacarily (sp?) large stations in my game, just 'cause they look damn cool!
