How does that 321 even move? Knocked realistic acceleration off?

Looks like 3 combined sets to me...

Ah, I guess that could just about make money, from my wee calculations in my game I've figured two THREE-car sets coupled together wouldn't make much money, but fair play with the 4-cars.

Realistic train lengths only in this game which means that the UKRS C321 can run as 3 and 4 car and any combination of that up to 12 cars in length. DMUs can run in maximum of 3 car lengths.
Trouble is, doubling up of units costs a crap load of money so these trains just about return a profit but some years won't make any money at all.

Ameecher's station overcrowding gets to dangerous levels:
Run 8 (12 car) trains of course!
Seriously dude, those screenshots do the UKRS the kind of justice that mine don't do! Fantastic stuff, I always enjoy reading your thread. Good to hear you're implementing realistic lengths of the DMU/EMU's too - something I endeavor to do, but fail miserably mostly.

I think you do pretty well considering you're not familiar with the British railway scene

Thanks for your support but I seem to get undue praise, these games just happen, I don't plan them really!

Cheadle station got overloaded (91 trains are scheduled to go there!) and needed new platforms. Previously 11 platforms there are now 15! Remarkably I managed to do it without attacking the surrounding city areas with dynamite.
The southern 4 platforms have been altered to allow 2 trains to stop on it at once. I wonder if you can work out how I did it

Split the 11 square platform into 2 5 square platforms and put signals on the gap between them?

Split the 11 square platform into two 5 square platforms and terminate them in the middle.

That's the one.
EXTSpotter, you can't place signals in the middle of a platform although that is ideally what I would do.

That's quite a busy station - it looks very realistic though

. Nicely done!

Is the PBS actually working there? I see you use normal signals for exit signals leaving no free path to halt a train after leaving the station. Thus making it not possible to run two or more trains simultaneously on the same block. Or am I wrong? (I haven't had the chance to play with the new YAPF)

You dont need the PBS signals on the exit for it to work, its different to the old OTTD PBS system.
Gavin, smashing shots.. what more can i say..

No, I actually ment that you should have a 'safe' place to wait after the train exits the station in case the next block is occupied... Could have been changed in newer YAPF version though (damn I would love to have mac port with the new YAPF)
Also, those screenies look awesome!

Thanks for the comments folks.
Re: PBS signals. The way I have implemented PBS signals in OTTD is almost identical to the way I did it in TTDP incorporating a few differences that the YAPP has compared to TTDP. It works and I haven't yet had any crashes, aside from ones where I converted a signal to PBS while a train was in the block meaning the block was supposedly clear.

Many ridiculous things have happened that I might finally bring myself to post but they are really verging on hideous traditional OTTD style networks... Here's a more pretty image, a class 37 hauls a pair of 101 DMUs across the viaducts at Silchester, en-route to the scrapyard.

I assume the one steel wagon there is for braking purposes? I remember seeing photos of a 2-car DMU from here being moved in Victoria on transfer bogies (as they have broad gauge to our standard which is the same as in The UK). Took a loco, five log wagons, the front unit of the DMU, five more log wagons, the second unit of the DMU and then six more log wagons...
Looked really funny

.
Anyway, this captures the same coolness! Get yourself some funding and replace those viaducts though
