I guess it would have to be another grf deactivating all the wagons, yes. What other grf files do you have loaded?

Today I got permission from Andy Slater of http://www.brdw.co.uk to use some of his recordings in creating running sounds, so I'm working on that now. :)

Very nice set, Pikkabird! Well done. :D
However, I cannot find the link to the TTD section of your site, and why exactly have you chosen to introduce two steam locomotives AFTER 2000?

it sounds like you downloaded the BR set, which is very similiar to this one, but not the same, and is unfinished, hence not all the wagons exist

That's because it doesn't exist at the moment.

There are other futuristic locos (fuel cell and electric) coming in the next update. I'm also considering bringing Dan's Maglevs over from the Arctic Renewal set, for those who like that sort of thing.

Hi everyone... been away for a while having finally sorted my home network. :-D

Just wondered if you wanted any kind of research doing PikkaBird? I'm not bad with trains, and there's a lot of activity in the Midlands with Rail services. If you want any help or anything just shout.

Obviously I'm not trying to make this sound patronising, so if it does, I apologise.

Dave

Hi Dave,

Well I've got plenty on my plate at the moment (more variable liveries, running sounds, futuristic locomotives, not to mention other sets and maybe even a bit of Real Life), but if you have any suggestions or opinions on the set feel free to give them. :)

What about something like the Tycoon Train around 2035?

It apperears in the newspaper when you win the game, and personally i think it looks darn cool.

That train appears to be derived from the 1930's era UP Streamliner the M10000

Yes, I'd love to have that train. Except if it's not actually a British locomotive.
Being slightly inaccurate and naming it 'Tycoon Train' would be no problem either. :)

Hi Jibb01, You're using OpenTTD right?
If you have version 0.4.0.1 you will get bugs, So you can either use the nightly(http://www.openttd.org/nightly.php) or wait for the next version (very close now)
Then download the Windows version of the train set and the 'this grf file' from the start of this thread and put both of them in the openttd/data directory.
Then follow this to add them to the game, http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?t=9424
That should be it (I think)

Unless you can reproduce this in the patch, this is a bug/missing feature in OTTD, and belongs elsewhere.

Most of us here have no clue what OpenTTD does or does not support.

I don't think there has been a release today.

You need to buy the Bolster Wagon and refit it to wood. Later on some larger wood wagons appear. This probably won't work properly with 0.4.0.1, but does in the nightlies.

Indeed, it won't in OpenTTD.

Edit: Added bit about 0.4.0.1

There isn't one. The latest file will always be linked from the first post in this thread, and the file currently there was uploaded on the 3rd of this month. The next update is coming soon (tm).

The bolster wagon should be refittable.

As for the OTTD stuff, like DaleStan said, not a clue, sorry.

I think Pikka would know the last time his OWN set, on his OWM website was updated.

I've only recently downloaded the UKRS, being a sucker for "real" liveries and stuff, but how could I resist a post-2000 steam engine?

I've been wondering though if the running sounds couldn't be improved. It's tied to how fast the train advances per tick, right? The skipping once past 60mph was already mentioned (not possible to use a second, high-speed sound, I suppose?), but I've also noticed that on tracks running _ and |, the running sounds are slower since the sprite has to cover more ground than on tracks running / and \. Not that that is your fault, mind you. I'm just idly wondering if that can be improved...
