You can clearly identify OpenTTD from the Fast Forward button which TTDPatch does not (yet) have.

Those stations are just alternative graphics, they don't do anything besides changing the graphics. Therefore you can use them online if you want, it doesn't matter.

Prof_Frink and I were playing an old rev (2204) which still had the money overflow bug.
After I sent a train to a depot, I suddenly had a lot of money.
We decided it was time to completely flood the map

effective 4-way junction

Actually I try to create a huge network with an uncountable amount of trains and no traffic jam.

The main problem are the junctions in the network. Mostly a waiting train causes other trains to wait which causes again trains to wait so you have to build really good junctions which can handle a lot of trains at once.
The one in the screenshot is really effective, because there are "inner" and "outer" tracks. All trains that dont need to turn can go non stop through (orange and blue tracks) and all the turning trains are on "outer" seperated tracks.
The advantage is that at the same time a train can turn and on the inner tracks trains can go without stopping.
I really like this construction. Maybe you like too (or even got something better)
edit: Added a second screen of the junction showing the optimal form. Woah, I like this junction
