Basically, yes. A product of mid-to-late game power stations, used by brickworks to produce goods. Cargo classes will be as per Cement - 0210 Bulk covered/sheltered.

Heh. It seems that modern Flyash operations use coal wagons (I assume that have been adapted).

I see. I thought it could also be transported in silos (the "pulverulent" class, assuming it ever got implemented)PikkaBird wrote:Basically, yes. A product of mid-to-late game power stations, used by brickworks to produce goods. Cargo classes will be as per Cement - 0210 Bulk covered/sheltered.

Fly ash is a nice idea, its definatly something that can be profited from if you have the right connections

It is:Snail wrote: I thought it could also be transported in silos (the "pulverulent" class, assuming it ever got implemented)![]()
Code: Select all
11 800 Powder-shaped material (bulk cargo needing special silo-wagons, e.g. equipped for compressed air unloading;
for cargoes like cement, plaster, lime granulates, coal dust, plastic granulate or powder, PVC, metal powders,
salt, sugar, semolina, ...)

In m4nfo, this class is named "POWDER".

Flyash is very small grained, and thus very dense
1.2 metric tons equals 1 cubic meter of Fly ash
so a 3 meter x i guess 1-2 m high x 1-2m wide is already something like 3*2*2 = 6-12 cubic meter = 8-15 tons (quick-calc)

At least in NSW, "Flyash" (when transported by rail for a brief period) was carted around in pneumatic discharge "tankers", similar to this wagon:

I had assumed it was because it was so fine, any attempt to discharge it with gravity would be rather unproductive.
Regardless, always interesting to hear about new cargoes!

Probably an obvious question, but are you going to do era-specific industry designs?

I would suggest you try the latest incarnation of this set Tai. Tai is available on the Online Content in OpenTTD.
Formerly known as r0b0t_b0y2003, robotboy, roboboy and beclawat. The best place to get the most recent nightly builds of TTDPatch is: http://roboboy.users.tt-forums.net/TTDPatch/nightlies/

your browser is probably set up wrong, it should present you with a download for binary files. but you can (depending on browser) right click the link and choose "save as...", then save the .grf file at "My Documents\OpenTTD\newgrf" (Windows. for other OSes see section 4.2 in the readme)Dwarvenspaghetti wrote:it just come up with a bunch of random code. how do i install this
