Hi all,
All these templates I did so far found a slight error. All the angle shapes are missing a pixel. They should be 8 pixels high and I only have them at 7.
My son picked up the problem of the test coaches and wagons was floating 1 pixel above the face of the rails instead on sitting on the rails face.
So I got some renovations to do.

I think I fixed all the errors .. at least I fixed all the ones I found.
The trains now sit on the face of the rails.

Previous set for the Newcastle Flyer I only had 6 carriages with them automatically putting the PFH Power Van on the back. Since removed that idea and PFH is now a separate carriage.
Graphics still need improving on the 45 class loco.
Any way here the files where I up to at the moment.

Been experimenting again.
See some train sets including mine do not ride the rails correctly.
Wonder now is it a train problem or a train track problem.
So I experimented with the track templates and the train templates.
And have found the tracks and trains do not align properly. Distance between rail faces on most rail system the train is usually very close to the same width as the length of the sleeper or close to it.
And guess what they don't align real well.
Have a look at these.

- Track Aligning_01.png (3.98 KiB) Viewed 16381 times
Train running north south directions .. the track and sleepers is 9 pixels wide and train is 8. Also I think the rail shading to the left of rail face could be removed.
Trains running at the angle do not appear to align properly with the outer track and same with the train running eat - west.
Hope when get chance in coming days to experiment with trains to fit on the tracks.
So I wondering if I adjust the train to suit the tracks will in cause problems else where in the game?
Any comments appreciated.

Man, a huge kudos and thanks to you (and all the guys you thank in the op) for your awesome job. From what I've seen this is by far the most comprehensive and detailed collection in the game. The vast numbers of trains, stations, objects and buildings is just outstanding. And that's only having excluded the industry mod, which I haven't seen yet. In fact the collection is so big that it feels even overwhelming to me, so I think I'll leave most of it until I've learnt more about the game, and I'll stick to the basics for now.
One question though: every train in the set is available from the beginning right? Or are they unlocked as time passes? Because I started a game in 1940 and their numbers are incredible.
Cheers.

Not every train is available in the beginning. They unlock during the game. Majority of them unlock the actual date that particular one had entered service in real. The first steam loco should enter service April 1855.

Made a 44 class loco today in the larger size.
Also been experimenting on taller carriages.

- 44 ClassLocos.png (13.91 KiB) Viewed 16180 times
The front train, the second carriage from the left is a S-Type Coach BS 1st Class and it is 1 pixel higher then the others.
Test so far have found no problems if I increase them by 1 pixel.
They pass under bridges and seem to no different then the rest of the carriages exiting bridges and tunnels.
Just wondering do any one know of any problems that might eventuate if they was this little bit higher?
The idea of making them a bit taller so that roof of the carriages look better when stopped at stations near awnings and it allows for nicer looks of the carriage.
If you like to try for your self and let my know if you find any problems that I not found.
Cheers

Hello everyone,
At least for the time being, I am back! Between COVID, the fires, the floods, and everything inbetween, time has been slipping from my hands, but I'm now back at work with Garry on new sprites. I'm excited to get back into the swing of things!
Cheers!

MagLev's are not available while using Auztrains,i am only using Auztrains grf,coz it loads and unloads very fast as compared to default, plz help.
When I coded the AuzTrains I never worried about the Maglev's and been asked the above question.
Any suggestions how to enable them?

Your set (as many, I even dare to say, all) disables the "vanilla" trains and thus also the Monorails and Maglevs.
The player needs to add a Maglev trainset, for example this one:
viewtopic.php?f=67&t=82345&hilit=RIMS
And then he will get the maglev tracks back with the above maglev trains.

I've handed over the source of my train sets to ASide8 as I not had time to work on these for a long time.
I also stuck in Philippines with the Covid-19 problem I can not get home till sometimes next year. Until I do get home I don't have access
to all my train books to continue working with these sets.
So welcome ASide8 to the world of Australian Trains.

Thank you very much Garry, I look forward to my new position (I suppose)! This is an opportunity I could've only dreamed of not long ago, but I guess now I'm here.
I've been working on the source code for a while, and I'll probably be releasing something in the next few weeks. We'll see, and I'll keep you all posted.
Thanks

Hey Garry, found a couple bugs and things with AuzTrains (ver. 32, posted 28/08/19) that I thought I'd let you know about.
Firstly, I noticed that AuzTrains has GRF ID 47470505, which conflicts/is the same as AuzTrainsNSW. I don't know if this is intentional, as ver. 29 had GRF ID 47470603 (seems to have changed from ver. 30 onwards). Secondly, I found that the Sputnik Double Decker set is using the same texture as the single deck version, even though it has its own sprites. Thirdly, some very minor differences: some of the stats (reliability) are different between AuzTrains and AuzTrainsNSW, with the same exact sets. Also on that note, to clarify, I assume that AuzTrains has everything that AuzTrainsNSW has, and so I only really need to use AuzTrains if I want everything?
Now that I've made an account just to tell you that, I might as well also say thanks for all your work — trains, bridges, stations, roads, objects! It's been 8 years since I last touched OpenTTD/Simutrans, and I'm having a lot of fun (it beats Cities Skylines for me), mostly thanks to you and all the other devs/artists in the community.

Hello mxnp,
Appreciate your feedback.
The art work was performed by several different artists .. we then joined them into 2 sets. AuzTrains intended to be trains all over Australia and AuzTrainsNSW just trains that have operated in State of New South Wales. If was intended to make a separate set for each State but hadn't eventuated.
My helper Aside8 taken on the task to debug some of the problems. Hope get chance soon to have a look at the sputnik and see which one is correct.
Cheers pal

AuzTrainsNSW
Changelog:
- Been updating the cargoes in this set. It should now accept all cargos for my AuzInd2021, FIRS 4, ESC, SPI and other Industry sets.
- Aside8 been busy working on the locomotives to improve the performance as realistic as possible and enter the game on the actual date as in real.
We are still working on improving this set but what been done so far should be usable.
So here the latest update to AuzTrainsNSW.

AusTrains
This set been updated with cargoes for AuzInd2021 and FIRS4 and technical details for the New South Wales locomotives.
Technical details for locomotives from other States has not been updated.
You will find in this set some locomovives, DMUs and EMUs from other States such as Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Commonwealth Railways and Western Australia.
It also contains ALL the locomotives and rolling stock from AuzTrainsNSW that is in the last post.
You don't need to load them both .. just depends if you want only New South Wales trains (AuzTrainsNSW) or you like some from other States as well (AusTrains).
AuzTrainsOtherStates
Experimental idea.
All New South Wales locomotives and rolling stock have been removed from this set.
It only contains trains from other States such as locomotives, DMUs, EMUs, and Passenger coaches for Southern Aurora, Spirit of Progress and Indian Pacific.
The idea of this set is for those who don't like the New South Wales trains and would like to use these locomotives with other train sets such as 2cct and other sets.
EDIT:
"AuzTrainsOtherStates" will replace "AuzTrains"
"AuzTrainsOtherStates" is designed to work in conjunction with AuzTrainsNSW and other train sets.

Update to AuzTrainsNSW
Been doing more updates to the AuzTrainsNSW.
Working on the Open Wagons:
4-wheeled wagons A, D and S added now carrying drums so they carry liquids.
G Wagon also has a Drum wagon also renamed to GM Wagon.
BD, BDX, BDY, and CDY have the following types of wagons:

Grain_livery;
Gray_livery;
Ore_livery;
Sand_livery;
Wood_livery; (carries Timber (lumber) and buidling material)
Wood2_livery; (carries WOOD (logs)
BDX has been updated to a larger wagon .. previous version was wrong size
BDY had wrong year .. had 1963 .. been changed to 1977
Go to page 1 for further details.
Here the update game file:

There are a few bugs I keep forgetting to report but since this is getting updated again I've been reminded

On the SMU200 and SMU220, the rear cars are facing the wrong direction.
There are also a few issues with colours;

The OSCARs' front is CC but the rest isn't so it can be a bit awkward.

And around the sides of the V set are also CC.

Same also goes for the K set (top) and S and R sets (bottom) although with them it's only the rearmost car.

The Hunter has CC on it's front but only on one angle. The Xplorer is CC but only on the rear car between the windows and the Endeavour is CC at the top but I'm pretty sure it's meant to be that way.
I can't really think of anything else atm but if I spot anything I'll give you a shout.
