Lots of options are available.

If there is a plan to head to the Transport Museum, starting the in the west end might be better.

Otherwise there are lots of pub places in the city center which will let you reserve a table if we have an idea of numbers close to the time.

This is a man who has never eaten in a Wetherspoons.

Their food is no worse than any other chain pub, is a lot cheaper, and actually - their gourmet burgers are actually fairly decent!

Oh I've eaten many a times in a Weatherspoons! But if I want microwaved food, I can do that in my own flat!

As I happen to have some leftover Red Spotted Hanky credit that expires today, and I have no other use for it, I've booked 3 tickets from Glasgow Central/Queen Street to Partick for the day of the meet (value £1.90 each!) for our trip to the Transport Museum. First come first served. Don't ever say your SROTU is not generous.

It's probably easier to meet somewhere in the city centre to begin with at least, get some lunch, then we can head to the transport museum for a while in the afternoon.

Also, that evening happens to be my stag night, which I will be having in Glasgow. So if you stick around Glasgow and are out on the town, I apologise in advance for what you may or may not see.

More worried to find you tied to the gates of Ibrox subway station the next morning...

I was assured I wouldn't be tied to a streetlight. Maybe I should have asked for further clarification and insisted I wasn't tied to anything!

If I'd known Owen was having his last night of freedom I probably would have come and then followed his party round Glasgie.

To be fair, I didn't really know myself until the other day - that night just worked out most convenient. If you make it up, Dave, you're welcome to tag along I'm sure.

I agree, those haggis burgers are honestly the best food you can get in spoons.

I am afraid I definitely won't be able to make it for 2 reasons.
1. I am away that weekend
2. I am not really inclined to travel to Glasgow.

I can confirm I will be in attendance, but may have to hide away in a corner from time to time as I will be on-call for work!

Any thoughts on a decent pub with food in the city centre we could meet in? Looks like there may be 7-8 of us. I'd say the Wetherspoons, but if it's likely to be heaving, another pub may be better.

Due to my appearance in A Song For Europe, I won't be there.

I've just been thinking about it, there's a pub on Sauchiehall St called Lauder's which is much the same as 'spoons for food. I've never personally eaten there but I've been drinking a few times and it's basically a Wetherspoons sans name. It's about a 5-10 minute walk from either Central or Queen St. (I'm willing to be corrected on the quality of the food however.)
