Re: TARS New Objects [Poll added]
Voted yes. I never went skiing, but I did quite a bit of summer vacations to the mountains, and the paths we walked usually crossed ski pistes (or whatever those downhill things are called, never went skiing) and ski lifts (so those could potentially have paths too).
So yep, I'd like the paths more than the pistes because those look more familiar
However, (I may have missed this,) does TT convert snow tiles to grass tiles during summer months?
Never seen that kind of season changes myself

Do you mean as with variable snow lines?Purno wrote:However, (I may have missed this,) does TT convert snow tiles to grass tiles during summer months?

No clue how that works, it's been a while xDwallyweb wrote:Do you mean as with variable snow lines?Purno wrote:However, (I may have missed this,) does TT convert snow tiles to grass tiles during summer months?

The polls says "summer snow transition", so I was referring to something depending on seasons (ingame date).

Re: TARS New Objects [Poll added]
Sorry yes, I should have made that clear. I have just taken it as a given that everyone uses a variable snowlinePurno wrote:No clue how that works, it's been a while xDwallyweb wrote:Do you mean as with variable snow lines?Purno wrote:However, (I may have missed this,) does TT convert snow tiles to grass tiles during summer months?

Cows or so would be great in summer i think

Generally the paths on a mountain go in a different direction than the ski slopes, especially in case of red and black slopes.
But if it looks good, I'd say yes, let's have a path

Indeed, this is my main issue. However, I think it would be a logistical nightmare trying to link paths up if they were going across slopes.FooBar wrote:Generally the paths on a mountain go in a different direction than the ski slopes, especially in case of red and black slopes.

Re: TARS New Objects [Poll added]
This set is going along well behind the scenes. However, I could really do with someone to help me with the organisation side of things. It's all getting rather complicated with the piste tiles and the orientations.

The Innsbruck ski jump might be more aesthetically pleasing:

Don't know where this ski jump talk has come from but I'd like to see the Cortina jump (perhaps also as a less modern variant).Ameecher wrote:The Innsbruck ski jump might be more aesthetically pleasing:

Re: TARS New Objects [Poll added]
I redrew the cable car station as I found 2x2 unnecessary. Here's the result.
(wires won't be green when finished, just to make them stand out.

Hi, I tested your GRF of this topic : http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php? ... 9#p1030989
It's good but the pistes do not fall on the slopes? Otherwise it is well, if I see other stuff I'll say

Sorry for the inconsistencies of my messages, but im French
Re: TARS New Objects Development [Poll added]
Not yet. The sloped tiles are in the ski shop waiting for the flat ones to be tested. We wouldn't want any skiers breaking a leg because we released faulty pistes, do we?Digitals wrote:It's good but the pistes do not fall on the slopes?

Thanks for giving it a test though! I have a problem that needs some solving and was hoping to enlist some of the clever people on here! It involves calculating (and preferably drawing) wires for mountain lifts so I can focus on drawing the pylons and the stations! See the attached image for details: Ultimately, if someone could give me all of the main ground tile combinations (i.e. ignoring diagonal tiles) with the lift wires drawn on - that would be a massive, massive help.
PM me, or reply in here for details!

Re: TARS New Objects Development [Poll added]
Another question for the masses:
What do people make of the transitions of the pistes? Are people happy with the paths being non-uniform? i.e. not just dead straight akin to the pistes? My only worry is that they may look a bit odd if you place large numbers of the same direction next to eachother.

Re: TARS New Objects Development [Poll added]
A long straight path will look silly too, so I'd prefer the bendy ones.
Re: TARS New Objects Development [Poll added]
Don't know if anybody has ever thought about it but here is an idea I literally stumbled upon: http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php? ... 1#p1031704
Let me know what you think of the idea. Thought it might be a nice extension of this project. especially if the sprites you already made could be introduced as stations!
As for the poll: I really like the look of it. Curly paths will look much better imo. Nice looking objects as well! keep up the good work!

Re: TARS New Objects Development [Poll added]
I just saw your topic and I was writing out a PM to you!
This looks great. I've made countless topics on here before about the possibility of making cable cars in this way - but you've gone and done it! This can certainly be great extension to this set.
I'll drop you a PM!
