It was suggested by a couple of OTTD devs a month or two back. I've resisted the idea, and probably for too long. I guess I realised that it was the best thing when one change to the .NFO sources (which I've still been unable to diagnose) caused huge issues with the ingame performance of the files. It wasn't written with much foresight, so it's a better bet just to trash it all and start over. I'm already seeing the switch to NML as a good one. Just the whole setup is easier and cleaner. Expect screenshot overload as development kicks in.

It would be nice if you could add company coloured liveries as a refit for the locomotives, I can recolour locomotive sprites for you if that will make things easier.

The goal of the Australian Set is to produce an authentic Australian gameplay experience including real life liveries and locomotive models. Unfortunately generic liveries at this stage isn't part of this vision at this stage (see the first post).
However, I'm more than happy to help with GARS if you'd contact me privately regarding it

Just an update that the new tracking table has been posted to my OpenTTD website. If you have any suggestions for things to be added to the set, feel free to suggest them!
The tracking table is
here.

Hey Lachie, would it be possible for you to share some of your NSWGR sprites so I can use them n GARS (with credit)

This isn't the PM I was expecting (so not to clog up this thread), but sure. I drew the R&S Set sprites. For the other sprites you will have to contact their original artists.

A little bit of manners goes a long way, I've found. I'll dig up some details. What locomotives were you after?

I drew a majority of the sprites and do not wish for them to be re coloured by someone else, hope that helps clarify things.
Great work Lachie! Yes I'm still alive and playing OTTD, especially Chill's patchpack (IS got me playing again). I glance over these forums often but I am too lasy to write something most days, haha. A few things-
Will be doing some drawing for a scenario (QR

) I'm preparing for myself but think will tie up some loose ends as well

I've got new fine scale track graphics being tweaked at the moment using NuTracks Grf.
In the screen shots you put, I remember drawing some trees and MdHowe drawing a few but are the rest Mdhowe's as I don't remember drawing them. They look awesome!
To everybody who asked, yes the paddle steamer was some experimentation into ships before but now there's some great ships out there to play with
Also a 50 class as your tracking table doesn't have it

50 Class! Excellent. It's good to see you aren't dead quite yet. If you're working on QR stuff you might be interested in a document I'm currently working on. Will PM you with details shortly.

Im have some NSWGR loco's, but I'd like to get the 442 Class and the 80 Class.

The 80 is by coalroads, who just posted. The 442 is not (at this stage) completely drawn or included in the set.

A result of some time testing different track graphics and some locomotives to use them

I think those rails are a little to dark compared to the track bed, maybe turn up the brightness a notch or two?

Hm, those tracks look alright, but wouldn't they require the redrawing of everything in the set?

The first locomotive coded in the new version of the NSWRS is the C32. Here it can be seen sitting outside of the workshops it was manufactured in, awaiting orders to move toward the main.

Maybe it is just me, but I think that engine with these colours is really hard to distinguish from the tracks.

Personally think they look fine. Anyone else have opinions either way on them?

Here's a shot of 5014 (drawn by coalroads_artist on this very page of the topic) passing through a country station on the way to pick up a consist of coal wagons.

I needed abut minute to find engine on the picture. But maybe moving loco is easier to notice...
